  1. Hi John, looking through "Malta Spitfire Vs-1942, Their Colours and Markings by Brian Cauchi I found an article on this very aircraft: Spitfire Vb EP829 Coded T*N belonging to 249 Squadron The aircraft was extensively photographed, and these photos reveal that it was not a tropicalised aircaft and did not have the large nose filter, this is clearly shown in one photograph. It had the legend Malta 1000 celebrating the 1000th Malta victory under the windscreen on the port side. There was also a small T above and behind the N on both sides of the fuselage., a Squadron leaders pennant and kill markings were also present on the port side at the rear of the fuel tank. It was part of the last delivery batch of 1942 and was the regular mount of Squadron Leader John Lynch. The paint scheme was a low contrast scheme either Temperate Land Scheme (Dark Green and Dark Earth over Sky or Azure) or the Temperate Sea Scheme (Extra Dark Sea Grey and Dark Slate over Sky). The colour rendition shows Azure blue. However the article does mention another Spitfire coded T*N featured in a newsreel, anothe non tropical Vb but with clipped wings, the serial number was not evident. and it had a very dark overall colour scheme (not named) with none of the other markings that were on EP829. Hope this helps, let me know if you would like any more info. Cheers Dennis
  2. Beautuful crisp build, I really like the VIII. Cheers Dennis
  3. Unless there are some surprise releases (Defiant, Skua, Fulmar, Battle type subjects) I think that I am done for the year and what a bumper crop, all in 1/32 of course. Revell Hurricane IIb Infinity Val Trumpeter Devastator. Kotare Spitfire Italeri MC202 Hobby 2000 Me 110E, at that price I had to Cheers Dennis
  4. I'm with you there John, my favourite paint, looking very smart. Cheers Dennis
  5. Nice little kit that, I built one years ago when I thought that it would never be kitted in 1/32 scale, enjoy. Cheers Dennis
  6. Sounds a bit nasty but also that he is in good hands, but also he has a long road to travel. Dennis
  7. This should be good, Tamiya and a Spitfire, whats not to like. Cheers Dennis
  8. Thank you Peter, it is ever so nice to be back doing some model stuff, I've got too many kits to be lazing around. Cheers Dennis
  9. After a long layoff I'm back at the bench, my eyes are now back to normal so I can plod on with my PCM Re 2005. All ready for some paint. Out with the Grigio Azzuro Chiaro, in this case Xtracolor X134 FS16307, I'm a bit out of practice so I did not mix enough paint so I will have to do the undercarriage doors later. Cheers Dennis
  10. Good update, sounds positive, especially the fried chicken part Cheers Dennis
  11. Looking very smart, my modelling interests are strictly WW2 but I did build one of those and despite the kits problems it looks pretty awesome on the display cabinet shelf. Cheers Dennis
  12. That looks really smart, I do like the Hurricane but only have the old Revell kit and a PCM one in my display cabinet, I will be adding this one to the collection one day. Cheers Dennis
  13. Looking good, but then again I do like a Hurricane, a fine looking aircraft, the speed of the build (2 days) is astonishing to me, it takes me 2 days to open the box. Cheers Dennis
  14. This is horrible news, hope that all will be well and please keep us up to date with any news. Dennis
  15. Nice one, I built one a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed the build, it really goes together well. Cheers Dennis
  16. Came home today to find that the postman had left this nice box for me (from Hannants). And to my delight this was the contents Just have to get the finger out and finish the PCM Re 2005 now that my vision is back to normal. Cheers Dennis
  17. Strictly WW2 for me as far as models are concerned. Cheers Dennis
  18. Just checked mine and mine is fine the missing piece is sledgehammer shaped. Cheers Dennis
  19. OK, I normally just chuck new kits into the stash without looking inside but here goes. Here's what you see when you open the box Then two plastic bags with the plastic parts inside, here's bag 1. Bag 2 Clear parts which come in their own plastic bag PE parts Cockpit Instructions An example from the booklet And a Correction booklet Painting and decal guide Mind blowing smoke ring decals, all numbered And the main decal sheet. Looks pretty pretty comprehensive to me but then again I am not an expert as far as Italian subjects are concerned and after three PCM builds on the run it looks pretty Astral Overdrive to me. Cheers Dennis
  20. Sure but give me a couple of days to sort it, life is getting in the way of modelling at the moment. Cheers Dennis
  21. This just landed at my front door. Cheers Dennis
  22. I used the Squadron Vac on my MDC Typhoon and it worked out great. I used the Fisher prop and spinner on my Hobbycraft Sea Fury as well, shame that Fisher are defunct. Cheers Dennis
  23. The Spitfire XII is one of my favourite aircraft subjects, I built my Paragon/Hasegawa version years ago, to me it combines the best of the Merlin Spitfire with that great big powerful Griffon engine added. Cheers Dennis
  24. Wow, I though the Paragon conversions were good but this is conversions in overdrive, fantastic. Cheers Dennis
