  1. Shame, a 1/32 scale Fulmar and Battle would spring open my wallet so fast. Cheers Dennis
  2. Looking like a Spitfire now. Cheers Dennis
  3. I really feel for you Harv, I've been through it twice and I know it's not any fun, just fill the days and do stuff that you enjoy, I even made out a wish list of all the stuff that I had always wanted or wanted to do. One of those wish list items was to be able to buy a 1/48 Tamiya Lancaster and a 1/32 Matchbox Spitfire 22/24, the latter I had lusted after every morning as it was in the shop window of my local newsagents shop and I used to pass it on my way to work. This restarted my adventures of building scale models which continues to this day. Cheers Dennis
  4. Coming along nicely (as usual). Cheers Dennis
  5. All very useful information, thank you for posting it up, I may have to build an early Mustang one day so all info is appreciated.. Cheers Dennis
  6. Nice summary, I do like the early Allison Mustangs, shame they are so neglected by the mainstream model makers. Cheers Dennis
  7. Coming along nicely, I've always wanted to build an RAF early mustang, but as usual too little time too many kits. Cheers Dennis
  8. Looking good, that Quinta set looks like a vast improvement on what is in the box. Cheers Dennis
  9. That looks pretty amazing, I will have to investigate the Quinta options on my next Spitfire build. Cheers Dennis
  10. Now that is a really great build, and would certainly generate some interesting conversations. Cheers Dennis
  11. That's coming togther nicely Cheers Dennis
  12. It is nice to see the before and after photos of your subject, it would have been such a waste if it had been scrapped. Cheers Dennis
  13. That is superb, as a PCM builder I can appreciate the work that has gone into it, I have the same kit in the stash and was looking at it yesterday, but no I have my hands full at the moment. Cheers Dennis
  14. What a build thread, modelling in a hotel room and making a great job of it, really impressive. Cheers Dennis
  15. Yes he was always very helpful, answered a lot of my questions and not just on Spitfires, luckily I copied a lot of his information.
  16. Hi Peter, the Revell Spitfire while not in the same class as the Tamiya Spitfires is a nice build, the Barracuda stuff is great for enhancing it, I think I used a YAHU IP on mine. A lot of the information I used on the build was from the late Edgar Brooks who reviewed the kit when it first came out, here's a link to the Britmodeller thread containing Edgar's summary. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234962817-new-revell-132-spitfire/ Cheers Dennis
  17. This is not nice at all, for gaps my technique is similar to John's I normally use scrap plastic pushed into the gap and then liberal quantities of CA, followed by accelerator and sand smooth before the CA goes too hard. Good Luck Dennis .
  18. Thank you Peter it will probably be a C202, but I will still buy the Italeri one if it has good reviews just to try and encourage them to build more Italian WW2 subjects. Cheers Dennis
  19. My fourth PCM kit in a row, Cheers Dennis
  20. Nice one, sure looks like a B of B Spitfire to me. Cheers Dennis
  21. Hi John, the station keeping lights were fitted to some Mk.I and II Spitfires, I found out on my build too late as I had attached them and sanded them smooth. This is what Edgar had to say, station keeping lights," which might have been coloured like the navigation lights, but that remains a mystery, for now. Cheers Dennis
  22. There are some impressive kits in that list, I think I've only failed to finish two kits, one 1/72 and one 1/48, they were both just too small for my sausage fingers. Cheers Dennis
  23. The sooner the better otherwise I will have to build my PCM version. Cheers Dennis
  24. What an epic, and a truly epic result as well, it looks great. Cheers Dennis
  25. Yes that's the one, the RAF Museum gave a firm a Spitfire to pay for the recovery, which was successful, however the Egyptian authorities claimed the aircraft. It has since been given a dodgy restoration. The remains of the pilot have not been found. Cheers Dennis
