Looks great, nice one John. Cheers Dennis

Looking good John, I had both the Monogram and the AMT ERTL versions of the B-26 but never got round to building either of them, they both went in a big stash clearout. This is a shame as I have always liked the sleek racer like looks of the real thing. Looking forward to more. Cheers Dennis

Not my area of modelling but I just cannot fail to be impressed by this build and the paintwork, it looks superb. Cheers Dennis

Spitfire replied to KevinM's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Great perseverance, looks like this one will get built, don't know about the 3 that I have in the stash though. Cheers Dennis -

If it anything like the PCM kit then just some old school modelling skills should see a fine Hurricane appear. Cheers Dennis -
I built the PCM Tempest not long ago and with patience and modest modelling skills it turns out fine, I did use the HGW wet stencil transfers on mine, and some Barracuda detail parts, seat, intake ring and wheels, plus Montex and AML masks. Cheers Dennis

Well with an Airscale Defiant in the stash and a Typhoon on the way I splashed out on one of these to help me cope with the printed parts. Cheers Dennis

Coming along nicely, great streaks. Cheers Dennis

Kotare Bf 109K-4 with AIMS decals
Spitfire replied to denders's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Looks absolutely fabulous, most impressive. Cheers Dennis -
As a huge fan of Spitfires the lack of straight from the box PR Spitfires has been a big missing factor in my modelling so I just had to order this one, it arrived yesterday straight from New Zealand with a poster as well. Kotare are also promising more PR types in the future. Cheers Dennis

Looking good John, you might have persuaded me to build a Revell P51 in the near future as a change from the recent Italian and Japanese subjects that I have been building. Cheers Dennis

Accurate Miniatures B-25D resumed
Spitfire replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Looking good John, I had completely forgotten that I had 3 of their B25 kits in the stash, a B a C/D and a G. Cheers Dennis -
Well further news on the DSPIAE front, when my original one broke I sent away and got an AK version which turned out to be identical apart from the colour and the name on it but came with other stuff. At the same time as insurance I ordered a really cheap one from SHEIN (£9.86) straight from China just as a "punt", it duly arrived and this is what I got. And behold. It is the same as the other two but a lot cheaper. Cheers Dennis

Hasegawa Ki-44 Shoki
Spitfire replied to Spitfire's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Thank you, and get it out of the stash and build it, these Hasegawa Japanese subject kits are a pleasure to build. Cheers Dennis -
Coming along nicely, the fabric/paper type seatbelts are a pain to put together but they do look great and are well worth the effort. Cheers Dennis

Just been placed in my hands by the postie, not my usual scale but early war RAF subjects are a real interest of mine, I already have the ICM Beaufort. Cheers Dennis

Hasegawa Ki-44 Shoki
Spitfire replied to Spitfire's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Thank you for the kind words Kevin, I am really happy with the result, and so will carry on with the Japanese theme with a Tamiya A6M2. Cheers Dennis -
Hasegawa Ki-44 Shoki
Spitfire replied to Spitfire's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Thank you Martin it is appreciated, it was a nice uncomplicated build apart from the self inflicted complexity of the masking and painting but well worth it in the end. Cheers Dennis -
Now I must remember the name of that one in case my DSPIAE replacement goes west. Cheers Dennis

That is way more than having a tough time, it sounds like a lifetime of bad luck in a very short period, glad to hear that you are on the way back. We were lucky when we lived in Sydney, we were fine but out neighbours car was totalled by hail. Cheers Dennis

I took the plunge in September and bought a DSPIAE ES-P rotary tool, as I regularly build PCM kits it has been a godsend. However, I got it out to do some work on my C202 and it was dead as a dodo, tried charging it and nothing, it was a straight from China eBay jobby, as it was so new and I had only used it 2 to 3 times I contacted them but will not be holding my breath for and answer. So I looked for a replacement and ordered an AK one from Jadlam, slightly more expensive but with lots of extras, I was however surprised when I opened the box. Twins, just hope the new one lasts longer Cheers Dennis

Hasegawa Ki-44 Shoki
Spitfire replied to Spitfire's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Thank you, yes it looks like a large engine with a minimal airframe, very odd looking but it worked at what it was designed to do. Cheers Dennis -
Well I finally finished it, just over a year in the making After all the PCM Kits I wanted something simple and easy to build, having built a lot of the later Hasegawa Japanese subjects I decided to build the Ki 44 that has waited patiently in the stash for ages. As I know nearly nothing about the subject I set about my books and of course the internet, Aviation of Japan being my primary search area. I got a lot of information from Aviation of Japan, the search function does work well, so all educated in all things Ki 44 I formulated a build plan. Nick Millman has in the past helped me a lot with all things Japanese so I sent him a copy of my masterplan as in the past he has very generously helped me out a lot. Nick's reply set in motion quite a revision of the plan, , and below is the result. Cheers Dennis
