  1. lol, didn't knew about special "panel line pens". I think any waterproof fine tip marker pen will do. I use Sakura Pigma Micron 005 and Faber-Castell PITT artist pen XS. I only use them for hatches and lines on bare metal surfaces, I think preshading with the airbrush is enough for other lines on WWII planes. It's easy to go over the top with marker pens and any mistake will show.
  2. Hallelujah! Leaves me with a search for available colour schemes and decal options for this and the Wfr.Gr.21
  3. At first glance I thought you posted photos of the real thing. At second and third also for that matter. this is seriously crazy stuff
  4. The old girl got a facelift and a new sister.... ...twins now Since I'm very happy with my original trustworthy H&S Evolution, I don't want anything else. The old girl needed some new rubber rings and a new spring and I bought her a twin sister. Now I can finally start the fun part of my 109 build....throw on some paint
  5. 24 hours in a day isn't enough for poor sods who love plastic Lovely decals....and Rowan is a great guy to work with.
  6. Oh and I still have a resin WWI Mark I (male) somewhere. I'll dig it out and start working on it.
  7. I like to say a few things about this, because I think some of the unrest was triggered because of my "large ship" idea. It was just an idea, and maybe my second idea was better (other stuff by members). I had no idea this is a sensitive subject on this forum. Obviously things happened here and elsewhere in the past...and that seems to linger on a bit. I wasn't aware of that since I'm new here. Still I don't understand the fuz, it can't be that difficult to discuss ideas in a mature manner. Certainly not something people should get upset about. there some simple options....like it here and be happy, don't like it and move on. In between those two....suggest something and wait and see what comes from it. Sadly some staff members put out fire with Me 163 fuel, sneery remarks are not needed and not helpful. Let's glue plastic parts together and throw some paint on it. Here or wherever. Be happy, life can be a bitch, but this is a hobby. Cheers to you all.
  8. uhmm....a small candle in an aluminium cup, often used to keep teapots warm, but also used just as candles. perhaps not common in all countries, but Ikea has them for instance. Tough times for Greece at the moment. I heard tourism is getting better...it's a start. I wish you best of luck
  9. When I make up my mind about the scheme(s) I'll use...I'll contact you. Thanks for the lovely decals and service, appreciated
  10. "more work is needed" huh? what? why? props look great imho, just about right, they "came to life", not over the top. In other words...I think they look fabulous note: I'm just browsing for nice prop examples and when mine turn out half as nice...I'll be more then happy
  11. Done that. Still need to sort out my airbrush issue, nozzle and needle seem fine. Returned from my vacation last night, Next week I'll go to Almere to get her checked. My H&S Evolution is over 10 years old now, perhaps it's time to get a new one. Still hope they can fix it...I got rather attached to her
  12. Nice stuff going on here! Perhaps get an HPH 1/32 ship catapult for it? Will look awesome! Another nice source for aluminium panels...tealight cups
  13. Seems to be wood only, thanks anyway.
  14. Okey, fair enough, perhaps consider this: a forum section for other builds by members. Make it visible for registered members only, call it "the gutter", "unspeakable small other stuff", "unworthy builds" or whatever. This way members who do a side step to something else still can hang around and show what they're doing on the side. Imho this can help to keep forum dwellers here...instead of wandering off when they want to do something else on the side or in between "LSM approved" builds. @PAnderson...when you Google HMS Campanula, you'll stumble upon my (still unfinished ) Flower build for sure
  15. So we have planes and armour, isn't it a nice idea to add Large Scale Ships (LSS)? My idea of LSS...small vessels (like patrol boats) and submarines 1/72 or bigger. Mini subs 1/35 or bigger. Capital ships 1/250 or bigger (1/350 is maybe too much standard or mainstream....dunno). There's a fairly wide range of large ship models out there and perhaps it's a good idea to add a small dedicated naval forum section. Just an idea
  16. my vote goes to the "12", it looks kinda unusual and the bare metal wing parts will look great I think. ...the other 2 look nice also
  17. There's another handy type of glue....simple all purpose glue like Pattex 100%. I use it instead of white (wood) glue. Strong bond when dry, good filling properties, fairly sticky when applied, dries clear and it doesn't frost clear parts. I mostly use it on resin and clear parts, also useable for PE. Resin and PE sometimes in combination with CA glue.
  18. That's a gorgeous Arado!
  19. On my always growing endless wishlist About breaking the drill bits...I wish they made the actual drill part of them a bit shorter. Hardly ever need to drill more then 1 or 2 mm deep...the thickness of styrene is hardly ever more then that, so 5 or 6mm long is plenty. Shorter bits last much longer I think...maybe an idea?
  20. Not to go off topic, but can you do a typ XXIII re-run? Pleassssse <insert puppy eyed face here>
  21. Thanks Paul, will check the nozzle and needle again, when I return from vacation By the way...when on vacation, I took some stuff with me to work on... 1/72 Special Navy Typ IIA U-Boot and some tools
  22. Hello people! Another minor update...just to show I'm not slacking Some setbacks last week. The tube light of my favorite magnifying lamp died. Since it's a rare T4 it took some effort to find a replacement. I'm legally blind without On top of this my airbrush started to blow bubbles in the paint cup...no idea what causes it. Cleaned it...took it apart, but she needs to see an airbrush doctor. I can't figure it out. Nonetheless...I made some progress. Finished painting the wheels, finished the prop and the plane is ready for painting. The Revell prop is a somewhat strange construction...not my fav part of the kit for sure. I scribed the missing seam between the backing plate and the hub and added some detail to the base of the prop. Wrapped a thin strip of Evergreen around it...better then nothing I spose. The hub swirl was a pain to apply. Buckets of Micro Sol needed to get it half right. I will be away from my desk for 10 days now...some R&R on Lanzarote with my better half. We have WiFi there, so I can check the forum Okey...must pack my suitcase now...cya soon!
  23. So there's a beautifully restored Uhu nobody knew of, but where's the model you made of it?
