Thanks! Like you...I enjoy the painting part most....when things go according to plan I like the rest also, but not as much. It's not like I'm a fan of the former "evil empire", but I like the planes they build and the sheer endless amount of colour schemes and decal options. Noblesse oblige...they made great looking planes and had a certain touch to make them look even better with paint and markings. And so I like the 410. Not seen a WIP of it yet (or I missed it completely), when it's doable for me...I like to go for it...unless it has (too) many demons to slay. Perhaps someone who already owns the kit can shed some light on this. I can build 109s like forever, but something in between or on the side will be nice also. I don't need to finish it in a month...I have patience. The WnW kits....I drool over them, but rigging scares me more than resin Thanks again...some words of wisdom. Rob

I have something to celebrate and I want to burn some money...but I don't want to spend it on something I can't handle. The HpH 410 is something I would love to build, but... I have very little experience with resin kits, actually...zero experience. I already find myself very brave when I use an aftermarket resin thingy...and I hate ca glue with a passion Is it foolish when I give this a try? Help! Rob

I just received an email from Michael from Northstar. He acknowledged the mistake. They removed the item from the website and will make a correct replacement. Those who bought them will get new ones when finished. Northstar want to deliver top quality (like the mentioned wheels), so they take this very seriously. I'm sure we will see more great stuff from them in the future. Rob

Thanks...and yes, I took notice of the smaller top wing crosses. Easy to overlook that....I even hold the manual underneath my magnifying lamp....before I figured out I could download the adobe acrobat version Full screen now and that's a good thing with my not so 20/20 eyesight -

Done the scary part... First the regular 74/75 mottling, followed by the 81 blending and additional mottling. Tried hard to keep it a bit soft...somewhat less massive green than the Barracuda example. Looking forward to do the decals and the prop now. Getting somewhere now. Rob -

Great job and congrats with the magazine article -
Yep, I get myself some Quickboost ones. They're not that difficult to scratchbuild either. I tried the ExtraTech pe Revi, but I wasn't too happy about it. I'm not a neuro surgeon Still a pitty...might get myself a 1/24 kit or two, but not 8 Wondering how they managed to make them a full scale off...not just a little bit. Edit: NorthStar requested my measurements and they'll check it. To be continued.

What I've seen...they looked gorgeous. Very sharp details and a perfect combination of resin, pe and clear film. So I ordered 2 sets of 4 directly from NorthStar. And indeed...they look great! But...after measuring...they're not 1/32...they're 1/24. Unusable for 1/32, but probably great for 1/24. Disappointing. (I can't post in the review section...a mod can move it...or leave it...or whatever) Rob

Thanks a lot! You must be Anders Hjortsberg Perhaps you can shed some light on the green RLM 81? Was this an Erla makeshift colour due to a paint or pigment shortage? And...is the colour I picked for it okeyish? I do hope so Thanks again Rob Edit: Where I am now... Shows what happened on the production line...they squeezed in one of the last 74/75/76 fuselages. Or used a recovered one from a damaged plane. -
Can't get any better than this...really...really beautiful. Rob

Foil...that's daring. You're a brave man. Rob

You been busy. The Evergreen strip looks like a clever way to get rid of a seam. I hate filler, so will try that also. Looking forward to see some paint on this beast. Cheers, Rob

Been busy, but mainly with a RLM colour quest and figuring out how the colour scheme was build up. Found the photo of this plane, but sadly can't show it, because it's copyrighted. Even though it's a pretty good photo, there's still a lot of guessing involved and I read there's some debate about the colour of the "22". Barracuda provided both black and blue (might as well be green or red?). The bright sunlight on the plane makes it all a bit difficult. Two things I disagree with the Barracuda scheme: The yellow band on the nose is a bit too wide and I think the spinner should be black instead of black green. They compared the shadow side of the prop to the sunlit part of the spinner I guess. Nice about this scheme...the plane is made of a green nose and tail section, with a 74/75/76 mottled fuselage in between. Additional RLM 81 mottling (rather roughly) to make it all blend. The solid RLM 81 wings is non standard also. The tailpane has the 81/82 camo on it though. Bare metal underside of the wings The two different versions of the RLM 81 colour confused me, but I guess the Barracuda guys did their research. Took me some effort to find the matching Vallejo colour for it, but the 71.017 (Russian green) seems to be good for it. A lot of time consuming masking involved....like an hour masking for 2 minutes airbrush fun More soon...just showed this to prove I didn't fled the scene. Rob Edit: the RLM 80 swap on the photo is RLM 82 Bright Green (Vallejo Air 71.022 Cam Green). I'm working on a RLM colour chart for Vallejo. Imho some call outs are wrong and some others need some drops of this or that to make them okey (like 74 and 75). -
Working on it! .....lol yeah...as if ...I know my place

Something to be proud of and so well deserved. Congrats! Rob

Beautiful builds like this make me feel humble -
I just checked a book....it's very...very small. so small it's only visible on very sharp or close up photos. found 2 where I could see it. It's the exact point of the front of a bomb rack...can't say more about it

I like it a lot! Intriguing plane also. Rob

A change of plans... The "yellow 6" will go in the fridge for now. Since I want to build a G-10 with the large wheels...and matching bulges, it will become the "black 22" instead. Bare metal wing undersides, solid RLM 81 on top and additional RLM 81 mottling on the fuselage. I asked Roy about this to make sure I don't blunder Basecoat after lunch! Rob
