  1. Tom, The plan is, apart from the four sparrows, to fit four sidewinders and the Vulcan cannon as well as two underwing tanks on the outboard points.
  2. If you state your dimensions Jeroen can adjust the file.
  3. The Phantom continues to make progress. The tailplanes are finished and the underwing tanks nearing completion.
  4. While I had some paint left in the cup after airbrushing some of the Phantom parts I thought I might as well check one of the Manchester wings for flaws.
  5. Thanks Tom. Another result of a bit of experimenting that involves this build but it is great fun. I sprayed aluminium first and then drybrushed grey, gun metal and smoke. Today I sprayed one Underwing tank dark sea grey and the other one dark green, before I found out that the tanks were dark sea grey only. So one step forward and 1/2 step back. I had found some black/yellow chequer decal and being a smartypants thought to put red squares on top of the black ones. But the decal broke shattered in many pieces so have to mask and spray. Slowly but surely.
  6. Thanks, with projects such as this you have to be. Decalling is a project in itself. I use a bit of the Tamiya kit and the spare decal bank. The finflash had to be custom made from bits of wingroundel. also did some work on the Spey cans. After a wash they should look good,..... I hope.
  7. I hope so as the start of the usually fun process didn’t start fun at all. I planned to do a 56 sqn aircraft but it turned out the Hunter decals were too small, both chequers and firebird logo. Back to square one but luckily I had some Lightning decals too so 92 sqn it is as the cobra logo was of the correct dimension. as there are no RAF Phantom decal sheets this will be a long progress. Pheww.

  9. Everything worked out as planned today and the Toom is now ready for a clear coat. I hope to represent XV466.
  10. Thanks chaps, after so much destruction and reconstruction work it is nice to see the Phantom come to life. some work on the rear.
  11. I tried Bluetack first but it wouldn’t stick to the surface ( must be an old pack) so I thought what the heck......
  12. Indeed, Well,a first to me. Freehand camo. I willneed to check in daylight but so far I am very happy.
  13. Yup, Dark Sea Grey applied.
  14. A new species of Platypus has been discovered.
  15. Nope, it's Ocean Grey that serves as an undercoat. The EDSG will go on top of that. But will concentrate on the underside first.
  16. That looks to be a nice kit and would make a great addition next to a Shturmovik to show the differences.
  17. Just to keep Anthony motivated.
  18. Very nice Tom, I am curious how you will support those wings. That should take a sturdy wingspar. Wood or brass?
  19. First coat of dark ocean grey applied. There are some irregularities but not much considering that this is a frankentoom. I am quite happy how it looks. I also got the Vulcan cannon as this was a regular fit in the RAF.
  20. Wonderful, I think Jeroen will recognize that ballast weight.
  21. Me too, never though I would reach this stage. I had to remove some US aerials that were not present on FGR2’s. Next, ready for basecoat to check for flaws.
  22. Nice and durrty. How do you create those very realistic spludges inside the nacelle?
  23. That’s certainly something else than stick and strings Fran. What a wonderful model.
  24. Do you really think she will fly again?
