Be careful you guys................ if you complain too loudly about inhaling Canadian smoke, and if our Government sees this, they may TAX you guys on importing our exported smoke !😋🤣🤣🤣

I knew you were a stickler for details. Sounds like that is just about as perfect as you can find. I forgot about Gravity paints I was thinking of Scale Finishes. So your roadster will be dead on. When I built mine I found I had to re work the front windshield frame a bit for a better fit. But I’m sure you will see what it needs and it will be a show stopper when done.

Hi Peter.... when it comes time for your Corvette, I'm not sure how accurate you want to go with it, and if it is going to be like your other builds, I am assuming that you would be as accurate as possible...... the body paint color caught my eye, IF you are striving for complete accuracy Sunflower yellow , is not the yellow to use for 1967. Actually at that time, I believe that yellow was a Pontiac color, and wasn't used on Corvettes until 1971 color code 912, and there were 1977 Corvettes sold in that color in '71. The actual color you may be looking for is "Sunfire Yellow" code 984. 2325 units were sold in '67 in Sunfire Yellow. Also Sunfire Yellow was only available in 1966 and 1967, 1968 was Safari Yellow code 984, 1969 & 1970 was Daytona Yellow code 984 ( same as Safari Yellow ) , 1971 was Sunflower Yellow code 912 Sunfire yellow, ( to me ) is a rather light washed out yellow and not a bright yellow. Interior colors available with Sunfire yellow were , black, white and teal blue, AND the stinger was the same color as the interior ( the Stinger, is the hood decal that goes on the scoop) so black interior , black stinger, white interior white stinger.. etc.... I am ABSOLUTELY NOT telling you what to do or how to paint the up coming Corvette kit, but I thought as you are a gent who strives for accuracy, and I am a Corvette guy, I thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth.... ignore this info if I have over stepped.... I have lots of info on Corvettes and am a Corvette owner for over 30 years and have judged Concours Corvettes at special Corvette shows for the 'Quad C' here in Canada. Jeff

............... for the past couple summers here where I live we have had smoke so thick we could not see the other side of the yard, and it was bad, but no one made any kind of big deal about it, and it lasted for weeks.... I guess some of us are made of stronger material.... huh

Can you thin the spine piece a bit on the inside to help lessen the gap?As I am assuming it is hanging up on another internal piece ? -

Yes, BUT, it seems we have all been spoiled to some degree by the new high tech kits of today, what you are doing here, Peter, is 'real modelling' showing good techniques, forethought , and great skills... to a fabulous end result.... other wise you would be like me,... an assembler.... great work on this, been watching quietly from the back row.... -
I think that looks GREAT, you're well on your way there , John....
-
Well, it's gonna be a 'try'..
-
So............ I managed to acquire a couple WNW kits.... I know, should have done it years ago, but ... anyway, I got the one I really wanted, and it is the Sopwith Triplane, (Thanks Carl for the timely advice ) and I managed to secure a Camel and DVII from the UK..... I watch Mike's ( Sandbagger) builds intently.... so I think I would like to try, I mean 'try', did I say try..?? My hand at doing a bi plane or triplane... I am getting to the point... so knowing how nice Mike's builds turnout, I thought I need to give Aviattic decals a go..... so I placed an order with Richard for CDL, and dark doped linnen decals............ well they arrived today, in perfect condition only 10 days from posting in England... not bad.... I open the package and notice there are THREE sheets one of the CDL, and two of the dark, sheets. A small note was in the pack, he said he included a second sheet of the dark, because the other sheet had a scratch..... it was a very small scratch, that I actually had to look for... I want to give a major shout out to Richard for his honesty and huge generosity, he didn't have to send a second sheet, and like some vendors could have said oh well too bad for you, BUT he didn't . I am extremely impressed and he has shown me that there are still some very good people in this crazy world. So a big shout out to Aviattic, I will be back, and I hope to do the decals justice.. awesome customer care !!

FD474 is 268 Sqdn RAF

Ok , I will have a look and see if that bird flew with 414........... any particular year you maybe looking at? Just for fun?
-
A quick look at the 414 Squadron ORB , shows they used the aircraft 'serial number' and no individual aircraft letters to identify each operational bird on any specific op.... and the pic you have it's tough to see what the a/c number is..... if we knew that number, might be able to find it in the ORB....
-
What squadron did you pick, John?

What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)
