  1. I am watching your build here, Mike. This is just way too cool and a really sweet airframe. Never seen one built before. Thanks to your introduction, I checked out the survivor. She looks to be in great shape. I am eagerly looking forward to your next update. I really like this. cheers Jeff
  2. Thats really cool , never knew one cud purchase those , any pics you mite like to share. Would love to see one Jeff
  3. This is what I meant in my ‘generosity’ thread. This is so incredible. Amazing guys here Jeff
  4. More truth than fiction there ……
  5. Sadly I did that to a Frog B25. Wish I had that kit back. I remember it to be a good model , got a lot of flight hours in that old girl till some sharp shooter set her alight. All crew survived the impending crash I’m happy to say.
  6. Well then, with that said I guess it kind of puts things into perspective . I just thought they may like to build try painting and play with them. It was my pleasure to send them to the boys . And I am glad they were pleased to have their own kits to work with. Might have saved one pr two of dad’s kits. 🤭🤣
  7. No I haven’t. I will have to do a little research to see if it is available here in Canada. We have some silly rules here. Might be worth a try
  8. I have this trailer in my stash as well. Did you build it with the camber ( hard to tell on my phone ) I’m trying to decide. Personally I might try BMF or chrome tape from an automotive store. Mulling it over …. Jeff
  9. Thats exactly the kind of thing I was referring to. It’s great to hear these stories. I bet this goes on more than we actually know. And yes , model guys are a good group and all seem to want everyone succeed.
  10. So, for the last little while I have been reading posts where some of you guys are in need of a bit or part... JohnB. needing the gun pod, Huber to the rescue, Ernie always being on the give, meaning he is the ultimate in generous, with kits and parts, to which I have been on the receiving end from him too, as some of you also... the other day Martin sent Carl a Special Hobby Tempest kit, and it just goes on and on, and for me it happened again, I am seriously watching Ron G's build of his fabulous trucks, and with one of them that he converted from Gravel truck to low bed heavy hauler, so with that, I asked Ron about the gravel box, well willing to pay a reasonable price for it should I be fortunate enough to have him consider selling , to which the immediate response to my query was.... " It's yours, just pay the post"................. Holy Cow.... now as we all know, Ron could have asked for any amount of money or trade, but nope, just pay the post.... suffice to say it is on it's way for a planned build here in Canada......thanks Ron !!!............ I just want to acknowledge the generosity here ,as a matter of course.... you guys never fail to amaze me with the giving, and like I have said before, in this turbulent time we seem to find ourselves in, this is a real positive step in human nature, despite what the news says, it isn't all doom and gloom, there ARE good people out there, and I am pleased to be associated with some of the best..... you guys rock !
  11. Well, from what I have seen and know about Carl’s cooking abilities, if it were me, I’d rather go to his place for dinner and learn techniques from a master and enjoy a fabulous cooked by that master. His smoking and cooking meats is moth watering.
  12. Another refreshing spot of generosity. You guys blow me away. It is so cool to see the willingness to share. It gives me hope that as turbulent as the world is, there are still some very good people out there. And I see a lot of them here on this site. Take a bow boys. Its heart warming !
  13. Brand new Bendex ADB 22X brake chambers !!! They look spot on buddy !! Great technique on the fine wire. I was thinking maybe using one of those bendable plastic straws ….. might be passable. Your technique is really good. Love this !! Jeff
  14. Well, I have seen the brake chambers painted the same as the frame color, and that looks pretty cool................. but....... what happens if a brake chamber has to be replaced? Then , there would be three frame color, and one regular factory colors... that might be an interesting contrast.... but for this job you are doing, as she is a show truck, I would paint them orange, ..... but if it were a 'show and work ' truck ?? ..................... the Kenworth W 900 I am doing, is blue and the frame as well, and I also did the rear ends and brake chambers blue as well sounds like a lot of blue, but it looks good..... Can't wait for your next update.....
  15. Does, the low stocks come under the same category?? And then that does beg your question as to why it has vanished off the shelves............ will it be gone for a while then re-stocked at a premium and they know sales will be high? I guess it's just business, but it makes things a challenge for the little guy.....
  16. When you said you were painting the engine orange, I thought 🤔 hhhmmm not sure about that … BUT you NAILED it. That looks awesome ! I love it and the fan detail is perfect., I really like what you did there Ron, I usually paint my engines in as close to factory colors as I can, I can certainly see I have to step out of my mundane ways and do what you did here. This is cool !
  17. I’ve never understood how , other than GREED , if a product is low in stock it converts to HIGHER prices. In real life it should be , thats the price and when it’s gone it’s gone . And shipping costs are out of control, everything I buy has to be shipped as my closest Hobby shop is about 400 miles from here . All I want to do is ‘rent’ a little space in the truck , I don’t want to BUY the truck. And for the costs of shipping it seems packages are taking longer to get here and usually come with a fairly healthy dent or two. You guys who have a LHS are SO lucky, even if it is an hour away, a nice drive, lunch out, and fondle plastic … perfect day . I love to go to a hood hobby shop and just brouse and take it all in, BUT the ‘down side’ is that temptation is hard to resist, on line one can just walk away at the LHS , ah….. not so much. For me at least 🤭
  18. Sorry, John, I couldn't resist
  19. Maybe 'sick ' of 'crapping his pants'?
  20. Wow, you guys are great. That’s what makes this place such an inspiring site to visit. Incredible generosity. Great to see these days. Following along quietly in the back row, John.
  21. I cheat. My masking skills seem to not be as sharp as they could be. I always seem to get more bleed through than I think or want to. Jeff
