Gaz, here is an idea... for the thread, instead of burning it, try some bees wax, just put a little between your fingers and slide the thread over it or through it, the wax holds all the little fibers tight to the thread, and it also holds the thread tight, I did that on the old Revell Spad XII almost 30 years ago and the rigging is still tight as the day I did it, no sag and no little fibers showing....the wax is very light and thin, you don't even know it's there, and it holds beautifully

I think I am in need of a good cutting mat......... for my new work area at the new house............ where do you guys get yours? Man , some of them are expensive.... I think I will need a fairly large one, although I still have to measure the bench to see exactly, I am just curious as to where you guys get them, and yes I can go to the local art store, but they want an arm and a leg for a small one..... any deals to be had out there??

Phil, I think the standard size of the 'Invasion" stripes was to be 18 inches across the board, correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what comes to mind, also , John have you ever read Johnnie Johnson's book, Wing Leader? If not it is more than well worth a read....

Gaz, do you have a link to "Part" pe site by chance?

Ah.............. car cleaning supplies........................... ah, yeah. I have a 4 shelf unit FULL of car detailing supplies.... probably have more product than the local NAPA store... I like to keep 'stocked' I have got most of my kits and built ones moved as well, and so far only one casualty my 1/32 Piper Super Cub, but it is easily repairable..... and yes, I also have WAY too much, BUT am still considering a few more items... I did, however try to pare down my stash a little before the move.... NOW to try and find everything that is packed in the boxes to set up my new work area..... wonder how long that will take and where everything is....................

Thanks for the Link, Kev, I love it when you guys do that, I have found some great stuff over the years... enjoy the movie..

There's an aircraft in the pic??? Where??

The next MILLION dollar question is..................... instead of asking model companies to make new kits of this or that, MAYBE we should ask them to make model boxes somewhat the SAME, so some of us can pack them in boxes for said move AND stack them NEATLY on the stash shelf ! I have whittled my stash down to a manageable amount ( not really ) and am in the midst of a move as well, Scott, and I am having a Hell of a time re-stacking the kits in some sort of order on a huge shelving unit, and there is ALWAYS a few that just quite don't fit into a good space.............................. if the box was a 1/2 inch smaller or a slightly different depth, life would be good.... but not so..... life's little frustrations eh?

Thanks John, never thought of that
