Cool, an A-26C night version! -
Today I decided I’m going to take the plunge away from my favorite Tamiya paints for airbrushing and going to try some MRP. Since Hobbyworld is always seems to be out of one of the colors I need for a project, I’m going to order from Sprue Brothers, since they actually have all four of the SEA colors I need for the F-105D I’m working on. Unfortunately, they don’t have the IDF Skyhawk colors yet, so I’m going to use Tamiya mixes for that. What tips do you guys have for using these? BTW, I’m going to use them for the Trumpeter 1/32 F-105D OOB, with the exception of fin correction and belts.

On a serious note to the question...Typically in the US, APO addresses are like local addresses and you can ship nearly anything, the US Military has a pretty good internal postal system for delivering mail to troops, I have used this a few times when I needed to get stuff to some of my local field repair techs when they were in Iraq or Afghanistan. Typically, they had their delivery in 7-14 days. I imagine the UK has a very similar system. So, any person or business can ship anything, including hobby supplies, to any service person anywhere in the world. A person can also send goodie packs to random service people anywhere. Typically, they love to get things to keep them occupied while on down time. on a side rant, A few years ago, my former company was putting together large crates of donations to go to troops overseas, I tried to go to some local hobby shops to get donations of small kits and supplies, but none of the local shops in the area wanted to donate anything, but instead offered me a small 10% discount if I wanted to buy them myself. Needless to say, I told them I would take care of it myself, I ended up finding a hobby shop that had a $3 sale for 1/72 kits, so I bought a few dozen and some basic paints with cheap brushes. I was a little upset that a chain of hobby shops would say no, how quickly they forgot... edit: this was before I met Ernie or Tony or joined any forums, otherwise I would have hit them up to help.

Tony, contact lone star anyway, they may have a set in stock, or at very least he can put you on order.

Something else to consider, get yourself a vaccuform machine, carve some plugs out of balsa, or maybe make your own resin mold.

I tried it on both my WWI snipe and fokker, the problem is it’s a little too floppy, hard to get it to sit right, lead is very soft, but stays put. But it really depends on your application.

Hobbycraft F6A D-Day - Ready for inspection!

It’s getting there, everything is getting masked, the big hang up is deciding which actual aircraft to paint, as this affects how I paint the invasion stripes. -

Oh, lol, ok...understand now. Although, with all the pollen in the air here, I would not do it outdoors. -
The crappiest fitting kits. What’s yours.

I don’t think they are as bad as some people say, true, they are not Tamiya quality, but most everyone has enough modelling skills to beat it into shape. Plus, at an average of $15-$20 each, you can spend $80 on a cockpit, PE, canopy, and wing fences, you have one nice mig. -

I don’t remember if I posted a pic f it yet, but here is my workbench. One 36” x 60” main bench, flanked by two 40” x 48” side tables, a total of 9 feet from one end to the other....which is still not enough! This is the current state of the bench, I usually do a minor bench cleanup after completion of a project. -
Yes, I hope so to. I have had plans to order them three times from the current supplier, but each and every time, they were out of one or two colors I needed, so I always found an alternative.

Very sorry to hear, our thoughts are with you.

You can’t possibly pay for any better therapy, I bet that brought gleeful giggles for an hour! -
Hoooo boy! If my ass could cram into it, I would love to take that to an abandoned airport somewhere!
