Will definitely be following your build Rob! -
Oh, I don't know, ........the rugged angularity of these groundbreaking little tanks appeals to me! Actually, my stash is confined to a walk-in closet In a small bedroom... admittedly quite full.

Looking great Carl!

More items today: First, from Takom, their French light Tank Renault Ft Char Canon/Berliet Turret (No.1003) in 1/16 scale. I've been looking for this kit for some time. The Girod or cast turret is easy enough to find but the Berliet turret version of this kit with its riveted plate turret is not so easily found. I know of only one place that sells this kit and its in Hong Kong! Anyway, I'm happy to have found it. The kit comes with a 1/16 resin figure. Nice! Also today, another set of Friulmodel tracks. This time their ATL-168 French R 35. I'm hoping these will fit the Tamiya kit. The Tamiya kit has excellent link & length tracks that happen to be very tiny. I think it will be nice to fit these tracks to the Tamiya kit for the added weight .

Today more Friulmodel tracks; their ATL-01 for T-54/55/62. Purchased for my Tamiya T-55a. Always out-of-stock before, I found these. Now, once again, out of stock at Sprue Brothers. The Tamiya kit is nice, but I think these tracks are needed to bring out its full potential. Anyway, more items coming this week.

How did I miss this? Amazing work! -
Sorry to hear of the mix up....hope the seller resolves the issue.

More today from AFV modeller. For my DasWerk StuG. In 1/16, some aftermarket resin. StuG.III Radio Racks (16067) andTwo of their StuG III stowed Mp 40 (16053). The kits' radio stuff looks fine but the AFV racks have more detail and include the various electrical boxes that are missing in the kit. Also, the Mp 40 include their mounting brackets. These are missing from the kit.

any recommendations on a 1/35 WW1 tank kit ?
belugawhaleman replied to npb748r's topic in Modelling Discussion
The initial Takom MK IV tracks were awful multi-piece nightmares. Later, they offered replacement one-piece snap together tracks that are very good. In later boxings these are included. Their two-in-one MkIV Male/female kit has these, their Mk I kits, their Mk V kit, and their Tadpole Mk IV also have the snap tracks. I was lucky to find a couple of these track sets that I can use on the earlier releases. The Takom Whippet also has good snap-together tracks. -
Another set of tracks from Friulmodel. This time; their Atl-63 Merkava MK 1/2. Apparently, these were meant for the old Tamiya kit, but I'm hoping that I can use these on the Takom Merkava Mk 1 kit. The link & length tracks in th Takom kit are fine, but because the way the upper hull is made in the kit requires that the builder build-up, and paint the tracks and lower hull prior to joining the upper and lower hulls.... I don't want to do this. I figure I could easily thread the Friul tracks into position after the kit is fully assembled. Well, we'll see about that. Anyway, you can probably see I'm enthusiastic about the availability of Friul tracks. I ordered a set of tracks for my remaining Tamiya T-55a kit. These were always out of stock when I built my first example of that kit.

Check out the A7v ww1 German tank by Meng. They offer two vesions. As Fran said Copper State Models has a bunch of great armored car models from WWI. Takom has a whippet, (Meng also), Mk1, Mk IV, and Mk V tanks, also the St. Chamond (early/late). Takom has a 1/16 Renault ft in cannon and mg variants... Please note that the ammo drums in the mg variant are for the wrong gun! They are for a later machine gun, the Reibel,..don't install the racks. Hobby Boss has their own St. Chamond tanks as well as Shneider CA tanks. Meng also has 1/35 Ft models. -
Today, got some Fruilmodel tracks. Ordered from Sprue Brothers, I was glad to see these were available. I had been looking for these particular tracks for some time. I had purchased the old Tamiya 113 kit a couple of years ago as a nostalgia thing....this is one one of the first kits I ever made back about 1979. The kit dates to '74! I know that buying Friuls for this kit doesn't make much economic sense really but I thought it would be fun. Besides, I already bought a PE set for it a while back. The kits tracks are the ancient Tamiya, rivet-the-end type and are....off-putting. The tracks come with two replacement drive sprockets. Also, from another vendor, I just ordered a set for my Takom Merkava 1.

Just to say that I noticed the availability of Friulmodel tracks on a couple of websites I use; Burbank's, and Sprue Brothers. I ordered a couple of sets. I guess they're back in business and have dropped the " Only order from us" policy. -
Looks great Ralph!

Pretty sure this the one I saw: C/N:69 tail number: NC8407 (4-AT-E, 1929) Originally owned by: Eastern Air Transport Currently owned by: The Experimental Aircraft Association is based at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, US. It tours the United States performing at airshows and other aviation events.[46][47][48]

That's a sound I'm also familiar with as one flies out of Waukegan airport and is featured at the local airshow. When at Mom's house ,near the airport, I'll step outside to confirm....and right every time! That and the Texans (At-6). One time I heard a plane I didn't recognize.....it was a Ford Tri-motor!

I like the big kits....but don't think I'll go for this one as I have Das Werks normal big half track already. Instead I might buy the Gecko 1/16 Pak 40 and have my Half track towing it! I'd like to see more 1/16 artillery stuff. I have made some 1/35 artillery and the kits were really small. Yes, I agree Large-scale more detail should be included....but considering, my experiences with most of the 1/16 kits I own the detail is pretty good. -
