  1. Cool! Planning on buying that one myself!
  2. Yes! Now I only hope someone revives Archer Fine Details!
  3. I've tried putting the bottle upside down in warm water.... Then pliers.
  4. Coming today from Squadron: From Miniart; it's their U.S. Army G7105 4x4 1.5 t Panel Van (35405) in 1/35. I've been looking for this one for some time...since it was announced. Finally finding one on the Squadron website, pulled the trigger only to find it was their last one. I like the looks of this one. Its got to be the most aggressive-looking delivery truck ever! Imagine if Amazon had a fleet of these! Anyway, looks like a great kit.
  5. Cool! Thanks. Regards; Paul
  6. What's on my bench?....Wheels, mostly. From Andy's late Sherman. This took a while. Each has a seam around Its circumference that needs to be eliminated... Each wheel is made up of halves. I tried something different... On each wheel I started erasing the seam using a fiberglass scratch pencil...this worked well. I did this wearing a mask being afraid of inhaling fiberglass particles. Using a scrubbing motion, this quickly reduced the seam. Then, I followed up with wet sanding under a running faucet with sanding sticks ...180, 400, 600 grits. Needless to say, this took time... a few days......Not to mention the time required to assemble the wheels. They look good....The Takom plastic is easy to work with. So far I've got these and the suspension painted and assembled on the lower hull. Got a lot to go...getting to the upper hull next.
  7. I thought so....I wonder what Martin has in mind for them?
  8. Are those rats?
  9. This came today from the Brothers Sprue: From Takom it's their ; Pzj G13 (No. 2177) in 1/35. Basically this is a Swiss Hetzer....a Swetzer. The Swiss changed the gun, added a flash hider, gave it a diesel engine, and rearranged the crew positions. Nice little kit. The instructions don't show a color call out for the exterior. Online pics sometimes show these as gray sometimes green. The box art and instructions show a greenish color. Can someone clear this up?
  10. Looking great Peter! Wonderful looking interior and cockpit!
  11. For a figure or a bust of some kind?
  12. That dude looks like he means business!
  13. The M10 and the Achilles kit also have Volute springs that don't actually compress as far as I know....so the suspension will probably only pivot like the Shermans
  14. If you watch Andy's videos... They do kind of pivot in a way but you're right they should work correctly in this scale.
  15. The suspension on the big Rc Tamiya 1/16 Sherman does work, and the bits are metal. Built that one about 20 years ago..its still languishing at my Moms house together with my Big Tamiya Pershing. Both need restoration... They both lost their turret mounted machine guns when carelessly packed for a move. Those parts are available... So maybe I'll get around to that sometime. I haven't run them in years. The Takom Tankette is a great kit...a fun build I have another one In my stash that has the Japanese camouflage ...three colors at least and that crazy yellow strip thing the Japanese added..
  16. Been working on one of Andy's big Shermans . Really not much to show yet...working on the suspension units and lower hull. Now, is it me or does Takom always have the maximum amount of sprue connections per part as possible? I mean, get out the nippers, x-acto knife, and sanding sticks......It's Takom! Sorry, just venting, really...it's part of the hobby! It's been about a week and I'm still on step four. Well anyway, the kit is pretty cool and I'm glad I'm building something for a change. Well, shown is one of the six suspension units. They don't actually work, they oscillate a bit, the shock doesn't telescope nor do the volute springs compress. It would be cool, I think, if the aftermarket would provide working replacements. Shown is an example of one of the units. I'm really looking forward to some more time to work on this kit! Paul
  17. I have no Spitfires in my stash Kotare or otherwise.... Better get one soon!
  18. Outstanding build! Most impressive.
  19. Finally, my order from Kitlinx came today.. Ordered on Oct. 17 delivered Today, Oct. 31......better than expected, really considering. The kit is fine...I'm pleased I was able to find it. The kit is Takom's Mk. V male/female 2 in 1 (No.2076) 1/35. Next ,coming from Amazon is a kit from Trumpeter it's their; PT-76 Amphibious Tank Mod. 1952 (No.00379) 1/35. I found this on Amazon for under $30.00. Was surprised to see it there. I already have the Friulmodel tracks for it in my stash leftover from a failed build. Another Item that was delivered today was apparently stolen; A wallet. The package containing the Trumpeter model kit had been torn open but the thief apparently wasn't in to model kits.
  20. I only ordered from this time because I saw a kit in one of their collections that I couldn't find anywhere else. I knew I was taking a chance with them!
  21. Nice John, maybe not a Mustang... Next time, perhaps a 1/32 big Brewster Buffalo next time?....Well, kidding really, but why not?
  22. hey, cool...floats...never knew that variant existed!
  23. Looking great Ron! I just started work on a big Sherman...I think I'll do the Panzer III after that. Not likely to do the detail work you are known for...I'll be happy just to finish the kit!
  24. No pictures yet, but I'm working on one of Andy's big Shermans....the Korean war/ late one ...doing marking #3 korean war model with the most Late updates. Got a lot of the hull done...cool, mostly nice fit...and best of all, It's big! Anyway perhaps some pictures later...a bunch of gray plastic! It's been a long time since I've built anything....I've been in a kind of a slump with health problems... And new responsibilities hindering my building time. Building today has really cheered me up and I hope to show some building progress instead of just my purchases....Although, I DO love collecting kits. Finding oop kits ( especially Takom) is a a pleasant pastime. You may have seen my Kitlinx post. Well, the purchase , was from a collection. Of a kit I've been chasing down for a while. That is a Takom "2-in-1" WWI Mk IV kit that's been out-of-stock everywhere for some time. Well, thanks; Paul I've added a picture of the Kitlinx kit.....hope I'll actually get it. Cool kit...love the post-war freikorps markings...might try to do this.
  25. Great looking build! I'm liking the PZL more and more with each build I see finished! Paul
