What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)
belugawhaleman replied to Martinnfb's topic in Modelling Discussion
Hey, thanks Peter...honestly, I wasnt intentionally trying to make it look dusty...just bad photography on my part. It's just a traditional flat cote.....using the Testor's stuff, only using, this time, a greater amount of thinner. This time...about a 60/40 mix thinner to flat cote. This went over a coat of Tamiya semi-gloss lacquer pre-decaling coat..also about 60/40 favoring thinner. I like the results....very smooth without imperfections. I'm glad you liked it...thanks for your kind feedback. I really loved this kit....too bad Tamiya seems to have abandoned it in 1/35......1/48 scale still available. I have the Commander version in 1/35......When I do that, I'll do the 3 color camouflage version. Again, ...I highly recommend the kit.....Great fun, cool vehicle. -
Had a couple of Dobermans while growing up......lovely, loyal, creatures... Miss them dearly.

Sorry to hear of this Harv...Myself, I hate moving too. Wish you luck.

Been working on Tamiya's Steyr 1500A. I still have the wheels to mask and paint.... Tomorrow, I'll be cutting stencils. Then install the windshield glass. -

Well, regarding the Trumpy Devastator....I hope it's coming soon. It's a cool,...underrepresented subject. I remember Monogram released one .....decades ago in 1/48...I believe one in 1/32 would be a definite first. -
Some maintenance items came today;......For my Dspiae circle cutter. Some replacement cutter blades. Thought I'd buy these so I have them when needed.....bought two boxes at $ 5.99 each.

Never built a ship......saw a 1/35 css Hunley but not sure its worth the price, still, it's tempting. Nice work so far. That photo-etch looks daunting. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/mikromir-35-013-css-hl-hunley--700077

No, it's almost completed, but needs painting. It's Pretty much "on hold" for now. -
Got this today; supposed to work well with clear parts ....it's meant for repairing watch crystals It's G-S Hypo cement. It has a fine needle applicator that includes a fine wire attached to the cap that goes into the needle when not using. Upon inspection, I had to use my 3.5 power magnifying glasses to get the cap back on! Anyway, I've heard good things said about this stuff.....thought I'd give it a try. Anyone else used this stuff? Only thing the tube is very small ( 1/3 fluid oz.)

Jeeeze, i hope you don't cancel my order out.....got to get one of those....the price..well. Higher than I usually spend...but I got to get one of those! Want to build a helo...so bad! I don't want to build something that prince Harry flew....that ....would be, well, well anyway, a Guardian or long bow for me! I might wait a while.... But, I'll get one!
-
Ok, I'll check that......Thanks!

Very nice. I saw those on the Sprue Brothers website but they were already sold out. They have the foreign service boxing, but the others...gone. I want one!

Always have trouble with UPS. I've told my suppliers; Sprue Brothers, scalehobbyist and Burbank's house of Hobbies not to ship my orders via UPS. Mr Surfacer is a great product use it all the time. You're making great progress so far! -
Me too! Although I'm still waiting, as you know, for a Brewster Buffalo in that scale!

Another arrival from Sprue Brothers of an offering from Takom. After purchasing their Male Mk I tank, I decided to go ahead and get the Takom WW I Heavy Battle Tank Mk I Female kit as well. Being a Takom kit; availability Is always an issue, and who knows if it will soon be sold out as their kits always are. The Female MK I has the grenade screen on top which, I think, looks pretty cool. Its made up of two big photo-etch parts and sits on a frame a top the tank. . Anyway, I now have a growing stash of WW I subjects including; items from Copper State Models, Meng, and Takom.......got to build one of these soon!
