  1. I just moved a lot of model kits out of a bedroom closet to do some cleaning. I now , temporarily, have a tower of model kits in my living room....and that's only about half of my stash......I buy too many kits.....I think, ....I'm not well. I wish I had a wife to tell me to stop!
  2. Looks like a great subject. I like the big scale kits....I had a look at the big Trumpy SU-100 in my stash...may build it soon.
  3. As you well know, I like to use the signature function to add literature quotes to my posts.....it's just something I enjoy doing. Lately, I've been unable to do so. When using the paste function, and then pressing save....the quote appears in a larger font than previously, and it has made adding signatures nearly impossible! Why the change? Any attempt to use the size function to change this has not been possible....Why? Paul
  4. Love the Kingfisher.....yours, ...coming along nicely! BTW.....some time ago, at another residence....with a pond..saw an actual King fisher diving for food....pretty cool...living there for almost 35 years, witnessed this only once...a pretty cool, early morning Saturday..
  5. Cool, I'd love to get a WNW kit....the only one I think I'd be able to accomplish would be the little Junkers monoplane....or a DVII....without much rigging.... Also ...a bit too expensive.... Oh, I could buy one....but to screw one up....that would be well, heartbreaking!
  6. More on my Tamiya Brummbar build....... So far a trouble free fun build.
  7. Working on Tamiya's Brummbar....this is their 2017 release. The kit has built up great so far, although I still have a ways to go. The upper hull and roof in this picture are not glued in yet.....their fit is just that good. The tracks...although "rubber band" look ok.....I may use them, but last night I remembered I had some T-Rex studio tracks that would work with this kit,.... although those near microscopic resin track pins look formidable.... And fragile.
  8. I've had no problems with Tamiya decals lately.. The last few tamiya kits I have built they were just fine. They responded well to the decal solution I use....Walther's Solvaset.
  9. Looking great Peter!......Thinking of starting a Tamiya kit this weekend. Looking at their Late Brummbar..... Well, I literally have a closet full of Tamiya kits...The Brummbar has been calling to me. I'll be following... Thanks.
  10. A couple of minor items today..... First, from Tamiya, is their TAM 12666 1/35 Tamiya Panther Ausf D Photo-Etched Grille Set. For the Panther kit I got recently. Also, from Eduard; EDUEX666 1/48 Mask P-38F P-38G Lightning (TAM kit) for the Tamiya P-38 I got recently.
  11. Coming Today from Tower Hobbies: From Tamiya, it's their newest release. Their Panzer IV/70(A) (35381). The kit looks pretty good....with link & length tracks and nice cast and rolled metal textures. A feature of this kit are the large photo-etch mesh schurzen panels...cool. They should give this beast a distinctive look. https://reviews.ipmsusa.org/review/panzer-iv70a
  12. Hey, have the same kit and, well, your build gives me confidence.... Nicely done. I ordered some Eduard masks yesterday.... Hope they'll come soon. It's been years since I've built a 1/48 aircraft kit. Well, why not build one of Tamiya's Offerings?...... Why call these kits Boring? Seems almost crazy! A well-fitting and engineered kit should be what all manufacturers should be striving for.... ....right? I'm glad to see this. I'm looking forward to see the rest of your build. Thanks Peter, enjoying your build....and looking forward to its conclusion.
  13. Great to see one of these built. I made the Tamiya full option one About .....well, long ago. So I won't build one of Andy's. Anyway, I haven't run It in years....probably need new battery packs. It's very dusty...but, I'm tempted To get it running. Again, it's nice to see your build. Well done so far. I hope the trouble with your eyes comes out well. Sounds Ghastly.... But I'm sure it will work itself well....
  14. Something in 1/16...or perhaps 1/24. The Takom Ontos, that big Airfix Spitfire, or, in 1/35, the CSM Ehrhardt. Andy's hobby headquarters has some future big-scale kits hinted at.......somehow, I think those might be a Lee and Grant.
  15. Nice progress Peter!
  16. A couple of items today; First, from Copper State Models, their Romfell Panzerwagen (CSM 35002) In 1/35. I had been thinking of getting this for a awhile..... Looks like a great kit of a unique WW I Austro-Hungarian vehicle. I have a few CSM kits now and they are very nice ...highly recommended. Also, I got a set of tracks for my recently purchased Panther kit. From Tamiya, their German Panther Ausf.D Separate Track Link Set (12665). These look pretty good.
  17. Nice! Great work on what appears to be a beautiful kit..Tamiya... Their kits.. though recently described as " boring"...why? Don't know, are wonderful. You've done a great job... Love the F 14, expensive for a 1/48 kit...but you Proved it as "worth it" well done!
  18. Shame...a big 300z would be cool...I've always been a fan of Nissan...Had Three.
  19. I built that big 240 years ago, and they also made a rally version....built that one too. It's a very cool kit, especially the rally version, with working suspension And great engine detail. Hope you do a build WIP!
  20. Hey, just looked at the marking options (3) for this kit....and you're right... All three options are for Panthers participating in the battle of Kursk. It's been a while since I did a tri-color German camouflage subject. Glad to see it will be of great historical significance!
  21. I must admit, ....I love the subject...I built a bunch of Japanese aircraft during my breaks when I was in college..... Mostly Otaki, (remember those?), Tamiya.. and I did build a Val..not sure who made it....but I do love good fit and engineering. Because of this, frankly, I'm kind of scared off by this kit. I value your opinion, and respect your building skills....Would you say this kit is worth it? I'm thinking of building a Japanese aircraft.....most likely A zero by Tamiya... Those are pricey... But then so is your VAL.....which would you recommend?
  22. Well Hubert, I kinda avoid overrepresented subjects.......but, despite being an armor modeler, I must say that this kit looks increasingly tempting to me....I like BIG! Will I give in?....Yes, probably! My decreasing eye sight and the frequency that I drop things makes large scale a positive boon!
