  1. Peter I've found that if I find there's going to be a problem like this I'll just brush the remaining decals with Micro Scale Liquid Decal Film. It drys fast and keeps those troublesome little mothers from shattering or cracking. Of course it won't help with whichever one(s) that have cracked or shattered already. 🙄 John
  2. Looking good so far! Those Japanese sure had some good looking ships.
  3. Thanks Dennis. It's one of their better kits for sure. No real problems at all.
  4. Thank you Phil. I'm waiting for decals for the Trumpeter F4U-4 to show up so I can finish that build. Seems like I'm always waiting for decals. LOL
  5. Thanks Peter. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. A little different from the "usual" LOL.
  6. Done with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/17404-trumpeter-sbd-5-finished/
  7. This is one of Trumpeter's better kits and builds up without a lot of headaches. I painted it with Testor's MM throughout with the Dark Sea Blue lightened just a bit. Decals are from Ventura Decals all the way from New Zealand. I decided to do it as a RNZAF a/c instead of the standard US Navy a/c just for something a little different. I hope y'all like it.
  8. Looks great Peter. Very attractive! Well done. If you need decals let me know as it's likely I have what you need in my decal stash.
  9. I found some at Fine Art of Decals. I'll order them today so hopefully they will be just the ticket. Thanks for checking for me.
  10. I'm going to put this one aside (not on the SOD) and get back to it when I can finally locate some decals. Y'all don't seem to be very interested anyway judging from the very few posts, etc. Later!
  11. I don't seem to be able to find any satisfactory 1/32 Navy decals for this build. You'd think there would be some sheets around but the only one I have been able to find is a Print Scale #32-023 which has two a/c on it. However, they are in Ukraine and there is a note attached there could be shipping delay due to shipping carrier problems. Would any of you have this decal and would you sell it to me? Thanks.
  12. Love that GSB Peter. LOL Now I need to attempt to attach the wings. Could be a high cuss-factor undertaking but we will see. 🙄
  13. More progress! One more coat of GSB later today.
  14. Thank you Peter. I've decided to fold 'em but I still expect it'll be a "experience" getting them to attach properly. Fingers are crossed so we will see. 🙄
  15. Thanks Kai! A little innovation there. LOL I'm not too sure how attaching the wings will go. I've decided to model them folded but looking at the way they are supposed to be attached concerns me. Looks to be a very high cuss-factor operation! I'll paint the model first then tackle the wing attachment. Fingers crossed. 🙄
  16. I replaced the crappy kit exhausts with some pieces of a old window blind! They look just right in my opinion and a darn site better than the kit ones.
  17. Some progress today but I think I see a headache coming on. The way the outer wings attach to the inner stubs looks to be problematic. They are supposed to "clip" together which I'm sure precludes having them spread and look acceptable. I'll have to work with 'em but I figure I will wind up folding them. ðŸĪŠ
  18. I built a Hasegawa 1/72 B-24D using his decals. The Sandman survived the mission. This photo is usually seen printed backwards. This is correct.
  19. Thanks! Now if the decals would just COME ON! 😄
  20. Thanks Kai! I think it looks really nice and I'm glad I got back to the build.
  21. He has really done some extensive research. Interesting presentation.
