  1. Unless I change my mind this is next using a Trumpeter 1/32 P-51B kit.
  2. Thanks Peter. It certainly stands out on the shelf!
  3. Finished with this one. When I first saw a photo of this airplane I decided I had to build a model of it. Very much out of the usual. It wasn't a racer but was a airshow performer. I didn't do any mods to the kit except replace the seat with one from my stash. Painted with Testors overall. Decals are by Draw Decals. I t was a very straight forward build and I'm pleased with the final results. I hope you are too. Remember to click on the 1st photo for best resolution and to view as a slide show.
  4. LOL Peter! This P-38 is such a easy build there's no real problem getting it built fairly quickly. No mods other than replacing the terrible kit seat with one from my stash and that's about it. Fill a few very small seams, hit it with some gray primer and it's about ready for paint. Alright! The postman just delivered the decals so it's onward and upward! LOL
  5. LOL Close! This one's going fast. Already in the painting stage but awaiting decals.
  6. Yes indeed Peter and I try to do a lot of research on my subjects. That certainly can add to the frustration factor!
  7. Thought I would pose both Mustang's together just for grins.
  8. I'm glad you came through okay Peter and never lost power.
  9. After perusing several photos and reading up on this a/c I think some of the photos (naturally) were taken at different periods. Not a big revelation but it makes deciding on colors, etc. a bit complicated. I've read, and seen photos, that seem to indicate black props and OD wings. BUT, in this photo you can see the props are NOT black but a blue gray and the wings are gray. My estimation is that, when this photo was taken, it was in transition of being painted and the props WERE really blue gray and the wings WERE really gray (maybe a primer?). At any rate, that is how I will depict it (because I like it's looks LOL).
  10. I just Googled the N number (N74883) and found that this a/c crashed in 1981. I Googled the N number and found that it crashed on takeoff iwhen the right engine failed. Pilot did not survive, airframe destroyed. Shame!
  11. Changing my modeling area of interest has rejuvenated my "want to" as I was a bit jaded on military. Nice change of pace for me.
  12. Thank you Peter. That certainly IS a eye catching scheme for sure! I was just about cross eyed by the time I had all those checks on! I had to apply a lot of them one check at a time. Those Draw decals certainly are nice but very touchy and thin as they tend to roll under if you slide them off the backing paper. I lost several like that (cuss-factor for sure).
