  1. Yes it is! Lots of neat subjects to choose from and a nice change of pace. I plan to do several racers. Thanks!!!
  2. Uh oh! I'd have to give up modeling if I had to stop cussing! Hope you can sort it out Ernie. 🙄
  3. I'll have to be VERY careful with it as I don't want any problems, etc. I plan to only get a quart to try out.
  4. Yes indeed Peter. Now comes the nitty gritty of shaping the tips. My fingers and toes are crossed!!! LOL
  5. Wing tips clipped and ready for reworking. As you can see by the photo they have a bit of a angle from top to bottom. That's why I cut them off uneven so I can "mold" the tips into the desired contour (I hope!). 😀
  6. Not a happy thought Gaz! That stuff must really be potent. ðŸĪŠ
  7. Cut 'em off last evening along with the horizontal stabs tips so now I can attach all the wing innards and cement the halves together. Then I'll see about molding the tips into racing tips which, I hope, won't be too tough. We'll see!
  8. Easy to do Carl. Similar names but totally different a/c. I cut the wingtips and horizontal stabs tips off last evening so now I can go on and get the rest of the wing parts installed and the wing halves put together. Then I'll begin sealing off and molding the tips into racing mods. Fingers crossed it won't be a buggerup! LOL
  9. Hey Bill! Thanks for the info! I'll check with Home Depot and see if they have xylene or xylol. That could be just what I need. Very much appreciate it! Best, John
  10. More progress!!! The wings still need to clipped.
  11. I look forward to seeing the completed model. I know it will be a beauty!
  12. I still have a bunch of their paint and use some from time to time. I expect there is a compatible thinner around, I just don't know what it is! LOL Thanks Peter!
  13. Thanks Peter. Something a bit different from the military look! Nice change of pace for me.
  14. Thanks Gaz!!! I felt like I was in a rut in my modeling until I found the availability of the good quality racer decals. Now I can proceed with a bit more enjoyment in my builds.
  15. Thank you Kai. Still a long way to go but I look forward to making some nice progress.
  16. LOL Peter. I'm pleased you have so much confidence in me! We will see! 😐
  17. Thank you Peter. Hopefully this one will turn out well. I see some hurdles ahead however. 😉
  18. Probably so but you'd need a template to go by I suppose.
  19. I sure hope it will be good! LOL No, I had a Tamiya kit in the stash waiting for attention so now it's time has come.
  20. This ought to be a real eye-catcher. It will have to have the wings clipped and racing tips added which I'll have to scratch build (fingers crossed it goes well!). 😉
