  1. LOL Phil!!! I'm thinking it might take a little longer..........
  2. Looks great in the box. Cookie Sewell did a review on it and gave it high marks. The only "problem" I see is all the molding tabs. Looks like enough to make another kit! LOL Pretty tedious to remove and clean up.
  3. Thanks Jeff. I'm glad you like it.
  4. Taking a break from things with wings. This Tiger 1 will be next up on the bench. Looks like a outstanding kit and should make a really cool model! Stay tuned.
  5. All done on this one. I haven't added the stretched sprue antennas yet as I'm sure I would break them while taking photos. The side numbers, 155, and tail numbers, 15P, are from masks custom made for me by TopNotch Model Masks. National insignias are from Yellow Wings decals. Painted with Model Master OD and Neutral Gray. I added the correct pitot tube as the one in the kit is wrong. I had come to a screeching halt on this build when I screwed up the windscreen/armored glass attachment. Thankfully the folks at Trumpeter sent me a replacement clear sprue so I could finally finish up. I decided to model Taylor's a/c instead of Welch's. I hope y'all like it!
  6. It's all done. Pics posted on completed works.
  7. I appreciate that Jeff, thanks!
  8. 10 years! Wow. Do you intend to finish it at some point?
  9. LOL When I post a comparison photo I think you will see what I mean Jeff. Just about done. Pics either later today or tomorrow.
  10. Both the windscreen and armored glass are clear (of course). It is very difficult to attach the armored glass without the glue showing. I tried to hide it with a little paint but it just didn't work out satisfactorily. Glueing clear to clear is a bit difficult. I have it fairly well sorted out on the replacements now but it's still not "perfect".
  11. I have decided to get back to this build which I had put on hold awaiting a replacement clear sprue from Trumpeter. That arrived a few weeks ago and I just haven't done anything with it until now. My intentions now are to go on and finish this one which shouldn't take long as it's 95% done. Stay tuned!
  12. I hate to say it but I've lost my "want to" on this one, at least for now. I'll get back to it at some point.
  13. LOL Jeff!
  14. Slowly but surely Peter.
  15. Yes indeed Ernie! This kit has a very high cuss-factor and since I am pretty much aware of the problems I hope to get around them without too much trouble. My plan is to have the nose and engine compartments open which means I'll have to put that mother on a base with the nose wheel glued down. We'll see how it goes!
  16. This should turn out to be a really nice model! Nice work so far.
  17. Some of the preliminary painting done for the insides. Yellow zinc chromate and my "special mix" Bell Green.
  18. Getting started on the preliminary work of cleaning off all the molding tabs and trimming away flash.
  19. My intention is to build it as "Snooks 2nd" and use the kit decals.
