  1. I've built the A-36 and a "A" previously so I don't think there will be any surprises. I'll be using the VERY nice resin cockpit from Vector which really makes a big difference in the model. My eye is on the one on the cover of Dana's new book on USAAF colors. Very weathered! All geared up and ready for the Corsair Peter! I look forward to watching your build.
  2. Hold the phone guys! I've changed my mind. The P-47 goes back on the shelf for now. HobbyCraft P-51A is calling my name! Now that I've finished the P-51A I can get started on this kit. Still planning to do Pengie II.
  3. Should make a good looking model and it will be the only razorback jug in my collection in 1/32.
  4. Thanks. No, only with the engine covers off.
  5. I think I FINALLY have this in the right place. Please see my WIP for details, etc.
  6. I plan to model the P-47D flown by Gabreski and Gladych, 56th FG using decals and info supplied in the AJ Press book 56th Fighter Group Pt.1. as my next build.
  7. Thanks. When our weather clears I'll give it a try.
  8. Thanks! Yes, one of the old Star Trek episodes. Must be what's going on! LOL
  9. Thanks Rob. They are addictive! They seem to be multiplying like rabbits in my display cases! LOL
  10. All done with this one. You just can't beat the Tamiya Corsairs for enjoyable builds. I had intended to build this one as a Navy bird (hence the folded wings) but changed my mind to do a Marine a/c at Okinawa. After market items are Barracudacast wheels and cockpit placards. Otherwise it's OOB. I used masks to paint the national insignia but other markings are decals. The GSB is Model Master Glossy Sea Blue enamel. I didn't to go overboard with weathering but I tried to do at least some (but not too much!). I hope y'all like it! Oops! I guess this should go in RFI. Will the mods please fix that? Thanks!
  11. Go on and post some photos. We'd love to see your model.
  12. Thanks Peter. Painting and decaling are completed so now it's weathering time. I don't plan to do a lot of weathering. Should be finished in the next couple of days. I really look forward to seeing your Corsair come together.
  13. Great info! I wish we could find the story behind the crash landing of this Corsair, #61 off the Shangri La, and what happened to the pilot.
  14. Thanks. Not a bad idea about posting pics of all my Corsairs. Stay tuned!
  15. Okay. Rested enough and back to it and I've decided to do a different a/c. Stay tuned.
  16. Not just yet. I might just decide to give the whole deal a rest for a while.
  17. I have decided to put this one aside for a bit. Never thought that'd happen with a Corsair! At any rate, I think I'll move on to something else and come back to this one a little later (but not TOO much later!). Stay tuned.
  18. Not likely guys but you never know.
