  1. Thanks Chris, so very much appreciated. I enjoy building Tamiya and Eduard kits more then any other brand for so many reasons, the detail is there, parts fit and the instructions are easy to follow. There is no such thing as easy kits are assembled and poorly engineered kits are built; every kit is assembled. The only difference is how much extra work and time needs to be put in to assemble a poorly designed kit and that's just not any fun in my book. I enjoy the finishing portion of a build more then the actual construction, as that's what I see in the display case.
  2. Looking forward to seeing the final cammo results when the masks are off.
  3. Thanks Rob, so greatly appreciated. I'm with you and on any project, my favorite part of the build is the finishing steps of painting and decaling, Just love all the P-38's - elegance in the sky.
  4. Oliver The dio sure is going to be on the large size but a wonder so see.
  5. I have most of what I wanted for the year in 32nd scale but will need to make a decision on the ZM 190 when it is actually available.
  6. Terrific work on your Skyraider - looking mighty good.
  7. John Glad to see you tackling working in 48th scale every now and then, as Eduard makes some mighty awesome kits and the FM-2 is surely one of them. Just take your time and you will slowly start to get comfortable with the smaller scale. Agreed, it's a nice fill in, between 32nd scale builds. Front office looks so good and the start of the firewall assembly is coming along nicely as well. I've been making nice progress on the Airfix Sea Fury (update this weekend (🤞). Absolutely the opposite of your Eduard Wildcat in every respect.
  8. Gus Looking mighty good in black primer. Glad you kept on going with the Tram
  9. John Brilliant work ... simply a beautiful Tamiya Spitfire. 🏆
  10. John Your speed and high build standards are incredible. Well done. 🏆
  11. Kriss Nice progress on the cammo - looking mighty good.
  12. Looking mighty good - paint work is perfect as always
  13. Oliver Congratulations on your work being recognized as of the highest level of scratch building ... What an awesome achievement and of course, I'll be buying the book.🏆
  14. Hubert I agree to a point, but it just seems the central theme for the GB is being overlooked and not modeled.
  15. Hubert Any 12 cylinder would be fine in my book but I feel the engine needs to be seen as it's the defining element of the GB.
  16. Kriss Fingers crossed the extra Tamiya masking tape does the trick.
  17. Ernie Leaning towards the V12 GB theme but one question: does the V12 engine need to be exposed/visible, or would it be any model depicting it's full size brother who was just powered with a V12 but does not need to be shown?
  18. Gus How right you are. Even though the kit only dates back to 2018, it inherited what was Airfix's negative characteristics. Soft blue plastic and lack of quality control adds to the 'joy' of the build. I started tinkering with the drop tanks and rockets, they are a total mess and most likely won't be used - just too much work to clean them up. The Sea Fury has folding wings, do I need to say more as I'm planning on building the Sea Fury with the wings extended.
  19. Thank You Paul for the very kind words. After the Seahawk fiasco, she was what the doctor ordered 😉
  20. Thanks Hubert So very much appreciated. For my money, the P-38 was the class of the field. What a gorgeous looking aircraft and of all the aircraft Kelly Johnson designed, my two favorites have always been the Lightning and the Connie. Just a wonderful build and nearly a perfect kit.
  21. Kev Great choice for you next build and will be following closely.
  22. Martin Brilliant work on the tracks and surely going to be a stunner. 🏆
  23. Ernie Thanks for posting the contest photographs - some mighty awesome work for sure. Having already built one of Tamiya's F-14A and a few more in the stash, my thoughts are for a builder who leans towards everything being closed up, Tamiya would be the way to go. But if the builder wants everything open and hanging down, AMK is absolutely the way to go.
  24. Ernie Thank you for the update on Harv's condition and also letting us know you spoke with Bev. Harv is in all our thoughts and prayers and we're so glad he is now where he needs to be for his recovery to keep progressing. 🙏
  25. John Nice progress - looking mighty good.
