  1. Chris Thanks so much for the offer, I wish I only knew a few days earlier, as my Eduard decals are scheduled to arrive USPS between this morning. 🤞 The big test is going to be removing the carrier film24 hours after the decals were applied and see if I can achieve the painted on look. 🤞
  2. Kriss Nice progress ..
  3. Rob BRAVO! Absolutely spectacular NMF and the anti-glare panels looks fantastic as well. 🏆 Patience of a saint and the results are the 'the proof is in the pudding'. I've been using Quinta sets on every build if they are available and I do like the seatbelts quite a lot. I used them on my Tamiya P-38F, they might be a bit on the thick side bit look just fine when the office is all sealed up and done. My decals are scheduled to be delivered today and once here, I'll be on the home stretch.
  4. John Like I've said all along, I have my money riding on you and it's surely paying off 👍
  5. Hi Olive . Brilliant and simply gorgeous work; just love the weathering and feel of the finish. Gues I'm a chicken at heart but at this stage of the game, I would pass on the pigments util you're more then comfortable with them and have no reservations on using them as well.
  6. John Fantastic build and so glad that Revell finally got their act together and produced a kit that actually fits together without needing all sorts of surgery and a doesn't have a 'cuss factor' 🏆
  7. John Heading over to check out another awesome build.
  8. Hi Carl Glad you decided to dig into the Hobbycraft Sea Fury - front office is looking fantastic. While I thank goodness don't have the Hobbycraft kit, I do have the pretty bad Airfix 1/48 kit with all it's poorly done molding and literally short comings and quality of the era. I also have a lot of the Barracuda update sets and am planning on merging both and starting the build right after the P-38. Not sure of the scheme yet but it will either be a Korean War Sea Fury or all the all gloss blue finish aircraft.
  9. Scott Hope the ACV replacement isn't going to cost a fortune 🤞 Awesome looking paint work - you're absolutely in the home stretch and looking so sweet.
  10. John You're on a roll for sure and looking mighty good. Seems we keep the same insane, wee early morning, sleepless hours and are at the bench 'grinding' away.
  11. Phil Steady hands of a surgeon are needed only kidding - no sweat for sure.
  12. Ernie Thanks for the update on Harv and some mighty positive on his progress ... way to go Harv.
  13. I'm not sure either but I'm just going by how thick they look and the appearance of the carrier film on the decal sheet. When I start to decal later this week, I'll test the Tamiya decals alongside of the Eduard decals and see how they compare.
  14. Kriss Some very nice progress
  15. John Awesome work on the cammo - looking mighty good
  16. Carl Great! So glad yo caved and another awesome Sea Fury build is under way.
  17. Welcome aboard and a terrific start on the Trumpy Razorback Jug.
  18. Going with the Pre War YELLOW Wings version and the single .30 Browning MG.
  19. Thanks Phil, much appreciated. Just never made sense to create brilliant kits and then only subpar deals and masks. How much more could it cost to go the full route?
  20. Carl Nice looking Spit and I should have thought about that before buying the Eduard set. When I built my Birdcage Corsair, I did use a lot of the kit decals and with a lot of fussing, they went down pretty well. But I'm so leery in 48th scale with much smaller surfaces to work with, the decals will have issues. See how all this goes.
  21. Rob Holy cow - what a difference ... the riveting looks incredible. 🏆
  22. John I can see a few differences, but they are close.
