  1. Ernie Welcome aboard and enjoy the forum. Keep 'em comin Peter
  2. Rob That's how I did things in the old days as well, as back then we were fearless and never a concern, besides who knew? Now as time as past by and health issues for everyone in the house is a major concern, I try to exercise as much precaution and safety as possible. After long painting sessions, I'll also head out for other areas in the house, leave the windows open and let the air clear as well. Keep 'em comin Peter
  3. Gaz I tried once but how I work; it just doesn't seem to flow. Ff course, my part of the agreement with the chief: I have my studio and that's where I work and paint. So far, our hobby agreement has worked perfectly for almost 53 years. Yup, time sure does fly by and I wouldn't change a thing. Keep 'em comin Peter
  4. Hubert Absolutely the most important rule to follow 👩‍🦱 Keep 'em comin Peter
  5. Scott Excellent precaution and I'll add it to painting regiment. This time of the year, when I'm done painting, I also leave the windows open to help vent the room. Keep 'em comin Peter

  7. John Good call. Just finish this beast and let the PE flaps slide until another day down the road. Keep 'em comin Peter
  8. John Amazing work - I'm glad you're winning the war and hopefully the Helldiver will go down the line quietly from here on in. 🤞 Keep 'em comin Peter
  9. John 'A thing of beauty'. Just hard to believe a kit can have so much that is poorly molded, fit issues galore and it just never seems to end. John, you have nerves of steel and I'm betting a 40ft trailer had to show up in the last few days with cases of new 'cuss factors'. I could never, ever have gotten as far as you have and mine would have been long ago donated to the recycle plastic bin that goes out on Wednesdays. Keep 'em comin Peter
  10. mark Amazing, what a difference Keep 'em comin Peter
  11. Bill The PE details look amazing and I'm sure it has tested your nerves as they go on. Hopefully the carpet monster stayed home and is nowhere to be found. Keep 'em comin Peter
  12. Since being diagnosed with cancer about three years ago and going though chemo, I am extra cautious with my painting procedures. Regardless of the type of paint being air brushed (I'm moving towards acrylics for military modeling), solvent or acrylic paints, I always wear a very good respirator and my paint/spray booth hooked up and running. The paint booth is vented to the outside through a window with ducting made for this purpose and the remaining open space sealed with foam, so that no paint fumes and particles can be blown back into the room. When I'm finished air brushing, I thoroughly clean my air brush, eye droppers and pipets, etc in the spray booth which is still running and still wearing my respirator. I try to take as many precautions as I can. When finished and cleaned up, at this point I turn off the paint booth and remover my respirator. Doesn't take much longer to be as careful as possible. Just wish I knew about this years ago. Keep 'em comin Peter

  16. Yikes John, that a pretty wide cut and really shows how bad the fit was. Thank goodness there is a canopy frame on top to save the day. Keep 'em comin Peter
  17. Mark Looking so good and glad the damage wasn't as bad as it could have been. In my limited experience of painting model cars, I've learned the hard way, to paint the entire car at the same time, keeping the color the same for each body part. Where I went off and it required a complete strip down to bare plastic, was the number of color coast and the amount of paint I shot on with each coat was always different. So, if some body parts were painted at a different time, the more or less paint was air brushed on and the color didn't match matched. Yours look great so I'm still wondering? Keep 'em comin Peter

  25. Rob Absolutely the right move- the new oars do have a more realistic look and feel and the not all blue paint scheme works so well. Keep 'em comin Peteri
