SH Tempest Mk.II HIgh Tech Kit
Peterpools replied to Peterpools's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Thanks Harv More important, take care of your medical issues and be well ... I'm finding out, everything is a process and the older we get, the longer it takes to heal. After a year under going cancer treatments, time and and listening to your doctor is the best course. Keep 'em comin Peter -
Harv Just take care and be well Keep 'em comin Peter

SH Tempest Mk.II HIgh Tech Kit
Peterpools replied to Peterpools's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Anything that would be of a help, is greatly appreciated. I'm determined after my present build to clear the bench and then back to the tempest, no matter what, it has to be finished. Keep 'em comin Peter -
Rob You sure have me beat and that's list of builds waiting to hit your bench. Looking forward to each of your builds. Keep 'em comin Peter

SH 1/32 YAK 3 "Here to Berlin" Finished
Peterpools replied to KevinM's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Kev Aces on a great build and finishing your YAK - she looks fantastic. For me, I'm thinking the best way to go is take a one kit break from the tempest: the Tamiya FaU-1A Corsair and then with my head in gear and new found mojo, I'll be back waging war with the wheel wells. Keep 'em comin Peter -

Phil How right you are and I taking a tamiya break from the tempest: building the F4U-1A Corsair and then I'm going to tackle the Tempest again. Some how, I'll figure out how to get the wheel wells done and finish the kit. Keep 'em comin Peter -

Thanks Kai I'm working on the Tamiya F4U-1A Corsair, to get my head in gear and build up some much needed mojo and then I'll be back at the Tempest, giving her another go at finishing. I received the canopy replacement from Tamiya in a week or so, I'll finish up the Phantom Keep 'em comin Peter -

Mark Good advice and I've decided to just to take a break from the tempest for a while, complete the kit I'm working on now and then back to the Tempest. Just can't let her beat me. Keep 'em comin Peter -
Harv Just take care of yourself and feel better - the Wessex will be there when you're up to it. Keep 'em comin Peter

SH Tempest Mk.II HIgh Tech Kit
Peterpools replied to Peterpools's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Kev As the Doc told me once: Good thing I have a hard head as I've had one concussion and it was surely enough. Glad you're OK and taking up modeling is a lot safer these days (chemicals and glues excluded of course). I'm sure there are days that all seven of your concussion act up and remind of of your past. Just be careful and take care. Peter -

SH Tempest Mk.II HIgh Tech Kit
Peterpools replied to Peterpools's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Thanks Gaz Yup, the kit is a Dog, no matter if it's a limited run or not. The real torment is the instructions and how they present the work to be done. If a kit can be over engineered, the instructions are 'under engineered' and just not user friendly at all. They need to be redone, showing clearly where and how parts attach and the orientation - that's half the battle. I'm going to talk a good break from the tempest and then follow Kev's advice, take the wheel wells about again and see if I can get it done - just not right now as I shudder just thinking about the kit. Harv Maybe a good long break is what I really need and then I'll try it again. Just need to walk away for a while Peter -

Kev Seven concussions, OMG how did you get them"sports, work, ? Just glad you're OK. The wheel wells frustrated me beyond my limit and I must have unglued them (the wonders of Tamiya Extra Thin) and still can't get them to work. I even tried assembling them upside down using the tracks/slots in the upper wings but then couldn't the wing halves together. The more I keep thinking about it, the more I know I want to finish he Tempest but need a break from the frustration and then I'll return to giving it a go once more. Keep 'em comin Peter -
John Way to go, progress is amazing and it seems you just started and your already ready for the paint shop. Looking mighty good Keep 'em comin Peter

Gaz I feel the same about large PE parts, as they have a uniqueness all to themselves. I'm getting the feeling that you're going to do the cammo pattern with soft edges which seems to be correct way to go, especially if the cammo was applied in the field. Keep 'em comin Peter

Mark (I'm the guy in the middle) Way to go, following intently and taking notes as mine (#10890) is still a ways away. Thanks for taking so many in progress pics as they absolutely show the work involved and your meticulous modeling. Which glue(s) are you using and for which parts? I've never seen a kit cause such a stir in the modeling world. Keep 'em comin Peter

Carl Thanks so much and completely agree. After a while it was a test of wills and the frustration level kept on mounting to the point, I just couldn't face another day at the bench. Time to box the Tempest up and move move on, same as with your He219. There always will be another day Keep 'em comin Peter. -
Very nice build on the Hasegawa Mustang from many moons ago. Keep 'em comin Peter
