Peterpools replied to Peterpools's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Mark Very much appreciated and half of my Tamiya builds have the cowlings closed right from the start. When the juices say it’s time for another Corsair build, we’ll be following and enjoying Peter -
Danny All kidding aside .. hoping you find the perfect home. WOW, the IP, seat and the front office look fantastic Keep ‘em comin Peter

John Of course, there always seems to be something we miss or a small redo. Sometimes in my zeal, I miss the obvious and only find it after the color coats are on and now, what a mess. So at our age, looke twice, take a day’s break and check again to be sure. Keep ‘em comin Peter

HO 229 Mysytery Ship build

Harv When is the next update coming? I’m counting on it and with each one, a nip from the ‘fuel’ will be required! Keep ‘em comin Peter -
Kitty Hawk F-5F done.
Peterpools replied to Clunkmeister's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Ernie Agreed on all accounts. Sometimes we just expect non-perfection from a manufacturer and then when we find it, we’re vindicated in our pre build thoughts. Other companies who have been with us for so many decades and some how they get a pass where others don’t Peter -
Hi John Looking fantastic and your pace as always is in high gear. Careful and precise work sure helps the parts fit to be close to perfect. Keep ‘em comin Peter

Ernie Looking good and nice steady progress to boot. But those silly manufacturing/instructional mistakes: shame on KH Peter -

1/24 Airfix Scale Mosquito build
Peterpools replied to PeteF's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Peter F Point well taken: the emphasis in IPSM contests for first round cuts is based on basic building skills: seams, sanding marks, glues marks, decal silvering, decaling, gaps, and hetting all the parts on square and correctly. These are the basics of building any model and regardless of how much extra work, detailing and corrections are done, if the model has basic building mistakes, it doesn't make the first round cut. From what you said, the rules weren’t followed and that shouldn’t be. IPMS has published rules and guidelines for both judges and contestents, so everyone understands the procedure and the playing field. If it isn’t followed then there is no standard and the competition becomes a ‘Like and Dislike’ contest based on personal opinion and not a standard. Peter -

Harv Realistic and the right decision: the Buff needed to be regulated to the back burner, allowing all your building time to be devoted to the HO229 Mystery Ship. I’m with Ernie and closing up the panels will save countless construction hours and help get this build across the line without panic as the Nats draws near. Keep ‘em comin Peter

Frank Terrific progress and nice going on overcoming so many obstacles at this stage of the build. Glad you were able to recover the engine front compressor part and even more important, your dog didn’t swallow it and avoided injury. The IP’s - sure are looking good. Keep ‘em comin Peter -
