Guys, I always seem to take the same stand on all kits; just glad to have them and when time allows; to build them. Back in the day, when I was young ( nope I didn't go to school with George Washington, but Abe .. maybe) we fell off our chairs when Monogram brought out the WWII heavies in 48th scale and Shep Paine graced us with his superb dioramas. Who could have ever imagined the heavies of WWII being available in32nd scale; not I for sure. As always buy what you like and enjoy building the kit as you want. Just enjoy the road you take on each journey. Peter -

Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair: Update: 2/1019
Peterpools replied to Peterpools's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Yikes, can't believe at how much time has past since my last update. With the holidays, the normal craziness for this time of the year, buying and setting up a new computer system, I have been one busy boy. My other passions have always been photography and flying and my new PC needed not only had to be set up for normal use but for photography, which included: Benko Sw240 Photographic Monitor Canon Pro 10 Photographic Printer Epson 600 Photo Scanner for converting negatives and slides into digital files and then all the other normal accessories: printer, DVD Player/Burner and external HD for storage. Of course, being a Mac Guy, this was no easy task but everything is up and running. But yes, the Corsair is still moving down the line and an update hopefully by the end of the weekend. Peter -

Harv Believe me. I really didn't want to switch but I just didn't have any options. My new system is specifically set up for photography and an iMac Pro was way out of the budget. Besides,. I type like crap no matter which system I'm using. Peter

OMG, what a Pain!! I've been an iMac user for close to seven years and my Mac was a bit long in the tooth and getting very tired. Photography is a huge passion and over the years the new versions of Photoshop and Lightroom, have brought my Mac to his knees when doing specific processing of RAW files. I was hoping the BIG announcement that Apple was going to make at the end of October would include the new iMac but alas: nothing. I needed to upgrade and just couldn't hold off any longer. I use a Dell PC at work and decided to buy one with the features I needed. I also opted for a BenQ SW240 Photographic Monitor and getting everything to work has been a huge challenge. I'm not that comfortable setting up a PC (at work, the IT guy does everything) and my comfort zone has always been the Mac. Live and learn. I've managed to set up email, my browser and get the monitor working but a lot of adjustments need to be made to both. The monitor needs the latest drivers as well as the NVidia GTX 1060 card but I'm slowly getting there. Peter

Ernie Good news for sure and glad to read you have a solid plan. I did almost the same when building my Tamiya Mossie a few years back but laid the wing down on a paoer towel soaked with Tamiya Air Brush Cleaner. I though the wing was a total disaster but after calming down for a few days, I decided to let the wing dry for a good week, then sanded and filled, repeated a good number of times but saved the Mossie. Note to myself back then: watch where I lay diwn parts! Peter -
