  1. Nice decision on the markings - going to look mighty good.
  2. Scott Nice work on the cammo as the color scheme looks so different. Plan ahead - you know the forum rules about such things : never plan ahead when we can avoid it.
  3. John Just figures, it would take a compressor failure to maybe slow you down, but I know you already have a plan in gear to keep working. BTW, your Corsair looks brilliant and the wing fit is perfect.
  4. Right with Carl Thanks for sharing the excellent photographs. The work is awesome.
  5. John Perfectly done!
  6. Scott Nice progress on the paint work - looking mighty good.
  7. Sounds like a plan and I'll be waiting for the update.
  8. Beautiful build - so very nicely done.🏆
  9. Oliver Some mighty nice detail work continues to roll along. Surely looks as if you have all the AM for the ground cover - going to look so good.
  10. John Nice progress - underside white looks perfect.
  11. Thanks Smitty One awesome airplane and the future for sure.
  12. Dennis Same here
  13. Scott Nasty stuff for sure and hard to believe anyone would do something dangerous to their health.
  14. Dennis Most important of all is you're responding well to the injections and getting back to being able to use your hands. Fingers crossed you keep making progress to a full recovery. I haven't tried paint masks myself yet but it's on the list. I've done a lot of worm camo work and the results are awesome, just so time intensive. Looking forward to seeing the finished cammo work - I'm sure it's going to be topnotch. For the Spitfire, I'm going hard edge as a lot of the builds I've followed and research, shows a hard edge was regularly used. See how it goes.
  15. Scott I've been using Flory washes for years and love 'em. So glad to see Hobby Nut is now carrying them and will be ordering more from them plus other cool and much needed supplies. I always paint in my booth and use a good respirator - paints, no matter the type are nasty when breathed in. Hope the mask works and you feel a lot better sooner than expected.
  16. Dennis Sorry to read you needed cortisone injections in your hands, just so glad it's doing the trick. There are days my hands actually lockup for a bit but I guess it just comes with age. Nice work on the cammo prep - I've done a few builds this year doing the same and it's well worth all the effort.
  17. Carl Nice work on the tractor - the detail is amazing. Hoping you plan on an interesting paint finish; I'll be following. .
  18. John Amazing how you keep busy which seems like 24/7 and always come back to a kit, finishing it up in Grand Style.
  19. Thanks PW, The wing roots/fairings took a bit of work, as I must have missed the mark a bit but after same sanding and tweaking, look fine. Hoping to get the majority of the cammo work done this coming weekend.
  20. Thanks Paul For the most part and nicely designed and detailed kit with just a few tricky spots, number one of the list: the turtle deck - not the best of fits. Fully agree, the front office is a gem and coupled with the Quinta set, really does look super busy and detailed.
  21. Thanks John. Looking forward to doing the cammo work this weekend and for the first time in a long time, going all Tamiya acrylics, matching the color callouts in the instructions. .
  22. Thanks Carl So far, so good.
  23. IT’S PRIMING TIME With bench time rather sparce these past few weeks (doctor appointments and tests for both my wife and myself) progress has been close to a snail’s pace. Throw into the mix waiting for the Eduard canopy mask to arrive, had the build virtually at a standing still. Finally reaching the priming stage and of course fingers crossed that there will not be too many go- backs, I moved onto masking and preparing the balance of the remaining parts for priming as well. I decided to glue the gear doors to their respective gear legs as each would be painted the color of it’s under wing and once the wheels were on, almost none of the oleo could be seen. The gear seems to be softly modeled as compared to Tamiya and even Eduard’s 48th scale kits but still looks nicely done. Brake lines are molded on and should have been separate parts. Most likely a compromise to keeping the part count and cost down. Forgot to take a photograph of the primed gear. The front wind screen was a tight in fit, it didn’t want to sit down correctly and needed to be taped down while the glue dried to fit correctly. Time to shoot some MRP Gray Primer and see how I did so far I haven't found any go backs but I'll wait and see after the primer has dried for a good 24 hours.
  24. Welcome aboard - some nice weathering on the kit's engine.
  25. John Looking so good and I'm so accustomed to your steady progress after all these years, that I'm always finding myself knowing the next update is normally just a day away. Nver knew that land-based Corsairs had their arrester hooks removed - learn something every day.
