  1. Carl Nice work on the tractor - the detail is amazing. Hoping you plan on an interesting paint finish; I'll be following. .
  2. John Amazing how you keep busy which seems like 24/7 and always come back to a kit, finishing it up in Grand Style.
  3. Thanks PW, The wing roots/fairings took a bit of work, as I must have missed the mark a bit but after same sanding and tweaking, look fine. Hoping to get the majority of the cammo work done this coming weekend.
  4. Thanks Paul For the most part and nicely designed and detailed kit with just a few tricky spots, number one of the list: the turtle deck - not the best of fits. Fully agree, the front office is a gem and coupled with the Quinta set, really does look super busy and detailed.
  5. Thanks John. Looking forward to doing the cammo work this weekend and for the first time in a long time, going all Tamiya acrylics, matching the color callouts in the instructions. .
  6. IT’S PRIMING TIME With bench time rather sparce these past few weeks (doctor appointments and tests for both my wife and myself) progress has been close to a snail’s pace. Throw into the mix waiting for the Eduard canopy mask to arrive, had the build virtually at a standing still. Finally reaching the priming stage and of course fingers crossed that there will not be too many go- backs, I moved onto masking and preparing the balance of the remaining parts for priming as well. I decided to glue the gear doors to their respective gear legs as each would be painted the color of it’s under wing and once the wheels were on, almost none of the oleo could be seen. The gear seems to be softly modeled as compared to Tamiya and even Eduard’s 48th scale kits but still looks nicely done. Brake lines are molded on and should have been separate parts. Most likely a compromise to keeping the part count and cost down. Forgot to take a photograph of the primed gear. The front wind screen was a tight in fit, it didn’t want to sit down correctly and needed to be taped down while the glue dried to fit correctly. Time to shoot some MRP Gray Primer and see how I did so far I haven't found any go backs but I'll wait and see after the primer has dried for a good 24 hours.
  7. Welcome aboard - some nice weathering on the kit's engine.
  8. John Looking so good and I'm so accustomed to your steady progress after all these years, that I'm always finding myself knowing the next update is normally just a day away. Nver knew that land-based Corsairs had their arrester hooks removed - learn something every day.
  9. Carl Nice start and going to be a fun build with hopefully very few challenges along the way, Will be on board for the entire journey.
  10. Ernie Thanks for the info and some good decisions. never even thought about the engines.
  11. Ernie WOW, looking mighty good and you surely have made a lot of progress on the Havoc. I've been following Nigel's progress on his (Nigel's Modelling Bench) and he spent a huge amount of time on the cockpit - building it three times: stock, with Eduards upgrade PE set and then with Airscale' detail set. What's your take on the front office for detailing out of the box?
  12. Paul Completely agree - for a kit in such a large scale, the suspension units should be a working part.
  13. John Looking good and I should be trying to keep up some type of steady bench time as yours ... just a bit too much going on right now to sit and work with a clear head.
  14. Carl Pretty neat project - are you working on a diorama or vignette?
  15. John Nice work on the front office and correcting the caution placard on he bulkhead was a nice touch for sure.
  16. Oliver Amazing work as always - enjoying each u[date for sure.
  17. John Nice start as always on your newest Corsair ... no question she is going to be a beauty.
  18. Carl Brilliant work and your fix worked perfectly. 🏆From here on there shouldn't be any major issues at all. Thinking back when I built mine (many moons ago I had the same issues and Paul sent me another wing and a few cowls and between all the parts, I found a set that worked. My Sea Fury was a lot of work but to this day, she is the center piece of my collection.
