  1. I love Jugs!
  2. And the digital camo fad? enuff already.
  3. My wife's mother collected elephant sculptures. Had thousands of them when she passed. Everyone left in the family has a full-time job and no desire to dick around with the mess. They're still sitting in boxes collecting dust and taking up space. I got most of my stash second-hand. Unless the reaper comes swiftly and catches me off-guard before I reach the point where my hands, eyes, and mind are not able to enjoy modelling, I'm gonna try to give what's left away, and the stuff nobody wants will go in the bin. Nobody should have to deal with another person's personal monument to silliness. Gaz
  4. Happy Birthday Peter!
  5. It looks good. But is it sidewinder prüf? Gaz
  6. Very sad. I feel I'll be a failure if I leave even a few kits for my family to dispose of. While some see a model or two they want, I see a sad epitaph. 11,000 models. Some people have more money than sense. Gaz
  7. Well... I was having Jug fever for a minute there. Will cheer you on nonetheless. Gaz
  8. Nice work, Tom! Did you do the oil-canning, or was it airfix? Gaz
  9. Great little dio! Love all of the ground details, too.
  10. Sweet work, John! I really like the weathering you've done! Gaz
  11. Does yours have DS tracks? I don't care for the DS tracks, and after all of the stuff I've read, I'm not keen to use them if I can find cheap enough replacement tracks. Gaz
  12. I don't think Smart Kit referred to a reduction of parts. I think in general the Smart kits have more parts, and in some places... like those tool clasps, moulded parts wouldn't have looked as good. In general I hate PE cuz it pops off so easily sometimes. And trying to make boxes of the stuff never seem to hold together well for me. Gaz
  13. From memory, mine had a metal barrel, PE 3D basket behind the fighting compartment, and a lot of other PE stuff. Some of my PE work was pretty haphazard and wouldn't stand up to close scrutiny. And the tool brackets were pure hell. It was a great kit, and Im sure would have looked great had somebody besides me done it.
  14. Love it!
  15. ...by the way... trying to do Anything with a gasmask on really, really sux.
  16. Vee rekvier no genetic modification! Vee are born zis vay!
  17. All I can say is that the dude with the dual MG's gotta have a strong back and arms.
  18. I built that one a couple years ago... my first Dragon kit. There was a large amount of PE I didn't use.
  19. You are truly mad... but in an admirable way. Gaz
  20. Martin, Thanks for the great photos! I've done canvas in smaller scale, but I think I'm not going to bother here. As it's a Dragon kit, there will be enough tiny parts to try my patience. Gaz
  21. Thank you, Peter! I find that delving into something I know nothing about is an excellent mojo motivator. I think you should take the plunge and not worry about the results. A lot of the same techniques can be used to weather a tank as an airplane, filters, washes, pigments, so it's not like diving into black hole. It's just plastic in different shapes. Gaz
