  1. I notice that in many pics, the leading edges of the horizontal stabilizers (aka the twin rudder thingies) seem to be a different or darker color. What should my brain be telling me? Metal or paint? Gaz
  2. Amazing work, man. My limit of the same type is two... But I have only 1 P-40 kit. That needs to have a little oil canning. Kinda nervous about starting, really.
  3. Well... I won't give ya a hard time. What would there be to change: Bury the cannon. Not sure if the cowling was different. I like the square wingtips as it just sets it apart from the rest a little bit. Gaz
  4. Dang, that looks great, Danny.
  5. Been a long time since I watched that movie. It went completely over my head. Like Bean, though. He play gritty, macho guys. Gaz
  6. Galland said flying the 262 wqs like 'being propelled on the wings of angels'. So, mebbe the ole' JuMo engines weren't so loud as those on a 747? Just gessin'. Gaz
  7. Thanks for that... another tidbit of information I didn't know. Have to admit that most I know about the Zero I either gleaned from TV or flying it online with IL2 Sturmovik.
  8. OK... I'm confused. Which Zero had the square wing tips? Gaz
  9. Interesting. I had no idea.
  10. Eek! That's my kind of "bridge too far". Gaz
  11. I recently did something similar with CA and baking soda when I built my ME-410. I got rid of panel lines that were filled in the Cosford plane and left only those that I could see in historical photos. I didn't fill the access ports, either. A thin coat of CA, sprinkle with baking soda, 3-5 minutes to dry, then wet sand. Saved me heaps of time waiting for slower drying stuff. Gaz
  12. Looks good, John!
  13. If I had every possible conversion kit ever made or dreamt of for the JU-88, I still don't think I could come up with enough paint schemes to build 29 of them.
  14. Speedy! Looking good, Ernie.
  15. Thank you, Ivan, I appreciate it! A while back, Peter Ustinov did some shows about Soviet aircraft, and he is shown in these docos walking around a lot of airframes that look like oxidizing aluminum. We need more shows like them. Anybody know the shows I'm talking about? Gaz
  16. Wow, Harv... I never expected something like this. I would think the fuel probe would be very simple, you know, fixed with a aerodynamic fairing. Placed so the pilot can see it really well: I think if you went with a straight one, someone might confuse it with a pitot tube. Good luck, bro... wanna see it come together. Gaz
  17. Thank you everyone for the great replies! Until recently I believed that the early MiG-25's flew in bare metal. It was actually on my To-foil list. Doing a satin gray finish with minimal weathering will be a challenge. Спасибо!
  18. My apologies.
  19. IP looks good, mate!
