Thanks for you kind words and thoughts, Rob. I appreciate it. As for the arrangement... I had to make compromises due to space. I only have space for maybe eight 25cm X 25cm bases/dioramas. Those dimensions don't include the frame that fits around the foam base. And none of these are protected from dust. To put the Marder perpendicular to the T-34 would have required another 5 cm at least. So... we will have to think of the T-34 as flank protection.

Time to call this one done. My first diorama... it has some warts. But it was fun at times and always interesting. You can find the photos here:

I've been watching a lot of Nightshift (the armor modeller) and he's gone from just doing models and began making bases and figures with his builds. Everything just looks more impressive when there is even a small dio around it.

Thank you, Rob. There is so much more to do. The T-34 needs to be dirtied up and I need to put more detritus on it. I've been toying with trying to make blisters in the paint. But my ideas haven;t been tried yet as I have much to do on the groundwork, yet. Thank you, Sir!

Straight from the Peoples Republika of Lithuania: I just happened to discover it on Ebay while looking for 1/48 scale figures. It was 20 bucks cheaper including postage than retail price here in Australia. I wish ICM would give us half Swastikas or something. I can paint them with masks I make, but the white edging is very fine and often requires touch up.

I have learned to not try either detail painting or highly controlled airbrushing after caffeine. I get palpitations and can see my hands visibly shake.

Hello Friends! Big steps today as I joined the AFV's to the base. The main goal was to marry the vehicles to the terrain in a believable way. You will notice some color discrepancies. These are places that reflect using different materials to add texture to the burned, open areas. They will all be fixed with paint and effects. The incense are burning as I type to provide some real ash. I didn't use any real dirt. Yesterday I mixed pigments with plaster of Paris to produce a grey-brown earth tone which I broke up this morning. The pigments made the plaster less rigid, but no easier to grind into little bits. I used various sized pieces to fill in around the tracks. Hopefully it not only makes the vehicles look like they belong, but also makes them look heavy. Anyway... onto the pics. If you have any thoughts or opinions, I'd like to read them. Happy modelling!
