  1. Thank you, John!
  2. Looks nice, Kevin. Couldja get a little closer with the camera, please.
  3. Thank you!
  4. Wow, that is an impressive work! Excellently detailed and well put together. Welcome to the forum!
  5. Thanks for you kind words and thoughts, Rob. I appreciate it. As for the arrangement... I had to make compromises due to space. I only have space for maybe eight 25cm X 25cm bases/dioramas. Those dimensions don't include the frame that fits around the foam base. And none of these are protected from dust. To put the Marder perpendicular to the T-34 would have required another 5 cm at least. So... we will have to think of the T-34 as flank protection.
  6. Time to call this one done. My first diorama... it has some warts. But it was fun at times and always interesting. You can find the photos here:
  7. Hello, Friends. Many of you have followed through this build since it begun so I will spare you long descriptions and captions and just leave you a barrage of pictures. I hope you like it.
  8. Not me. I had leftovers for breakfast. Liverwurst and cheese for lunch. And am having BBq'd chicken drumsticks for dinner. But on my bench...
  9. I appreciate the approach the mods take to this forum. It's probably why 70% to 80% of my online comments are here.
  10. Looks nice, john! Feel the power of the dark side flow through you!
  11. Love this build and how it came out. I'll be referring to it in the Future. Sorry... I said the 'F' word.
  12. Thank you, Kevin. It's been so long since I saw that, that I can't even remember the scene. I've been watching a lot of Nightshift (the armor modeller) and he's gone from just doing models and began making bases and figures with his builds. Everything just looks more impressive when there is even a small dio around it.
  13. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Peter, very glad you are in full remission
  14. Thank you, Rob. There is so much more to do. The T-34 needs to be dirtied up and I need to put more detritus on it. I've been toying with trying to make blisters in the paint. But my ideas haven;t been tried yet as I have much to do on the groundwork, yet. Thank you, Sir!
  15. Don;t feel bad, John. We all need magnification.
  16. Straight from the Peoples Republika of Lithuania: I just happened to discover it on Ebay while looking for 1/48 scale figures. It was 20 bucks cheaper including postage than retail price here in Australia. I wish ICM would give us half Swastikas or something. I can paint them with masks I make, but the white edging is very fine and often requires touch up.
  17. Thank you Kai! Glad you like it. Thank you, Harv. Yes, there will be a lot of matte-coating. But since I have to handle everything a few more times, I'm not going to matte coat just yet.
  18. I have learned to not try either detail painting or highly controlled airbrushing after caffeine. I get palpitations and can see my hands visibly shake.
  19. Thank you Peter. I'm definitely going through a lot of PVA.
  20. Great scheme... But fiddly looking.
  21. That is a great, scary photo, Rob. Thank you for sharing. My heart goes out to all of those poor people.
  22. Thank you, Martin. Are you talking about baking soda? What do you fix it with? I would hate to have it react.
  23. Hello Friends! Big steps today as I joined the AFV's to the base. The main goal was to marry the vehicles to the terrain in a believable way. You will notice some color discrepancies. These are places that reflect using different materials to add texture to the burned, open areas. They will all be fixed with paint and effects. The incense are burning as I type to provide some real ash. I didn't use any real dirt. Yesterday I mixed pigments with plaster of Paris to produce a grey-brown earth tone which I broke up this morning. The pigments made the plaster less rigid, but no easier to grind into little bits. I used various sized pieces to fill in around the tracks. Hopefully it not only makes the vehicles look like they belong, but also makes them look heavy. Anyway... onto the pics. If you have any thoughts or opinions, I'd like to read them. Happy modelling!
