Damn, I know that feeling!
-
Funny thing is, it almost needs nose weight. Fingers crossed the flappy things on the wing don’t lift the front wheels when I glue them on.
-
Keep ‘em coming! I may not build a lot of different genres, but I sure enjoy looking at them.
-
Hey Hubert, any better? I did have an issue with the nose leg having a twist to it. Wheels were slightly cocked to the right. I had to modify the top of it and the pocket it sits in to get it pointing straight.

Peter, go take a test drive in a new muscle car and report back. My 2015 Mustang GT that’s stock will run circles around anything back then that’s stock as well. That being said, I really like the old stuff better too!

Finally!! I think I see why my PO set it back to the distribution center. Picked up the box and just saw the return address. Those guys are in such a hurry to sort, he didn’t even take the time to look at the entire label.
-
Yea….still out of my league.

There’s an MFH Cobra Daytona Coupe on evilbay right now. $900 Man, that’s way out of my league.
-
Popped right out with a little wiggle added in. Cleaned up the cured epoxy and now on to plan B. Build out the gear with wheels and tires and everything painted then set the nose gear.

Dadgummit! You are so right! I was confused or in a hurry when I glued this all together and I even questioned myself because it didn’t make sense. But here it is, right in the instructions…..”This leg sits vertical to the ground, while the airframe sits at a high angle of attack.” I probably got confused where it said the mains are “hanging at 90 degrees to the plane of the wing.” Thanks Hubert. I really appreciate you catching my eff-up. Even more appreciated that you pointed it out to me! Now off to try and get this epoxied in leg to move….

Found a little “Oopsie!” Paul made. The wing extension at the tail on each side was about 3/16” too short. Had to glue up some Evergreen stock and CA it in place and then shape it.

Slow progress. Well, it is summertime and too many distractions. House guests, floating in the lake and filtering beer through my body, taking the boat out… Elevators, flaparons or elevons or whatever they are called. Wiggly things on the back of the wing are up next. Then I’ll do the slidy things on the front of the wings.

Just a hilarious update on my Squadron order. It’s still being driven around on a tour of postal facilities. Columbia processing center is roughly 45 min to an hour down the road. I wonder how many time it will bounce back and fourth?

That’s awesome! I wasthisclose to jumping into O scale model railroading at my last home. New place just doesn’t have nearly the room. Now the wife did suggest an outdoor train, hanging from the bottom of our screen porch where our hot tub and patio is at. But that’s no fun. Can’t build buildings, etc with a hanging track. This post reminds me I need to go buy a sheet of plywood and cut it down to put our Lionel Christmas train set on it. I finally figured out a perfect place to display it last year. I can build it out with a few buildings and Christmas scenes. Just store the 4X6 ply with the track attached in my storage building off season. -
Phantom Phans…..anyone see this? WANND Studios KAI conversion.

What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)

I’m already wearing bifocals. My close up is pretty good and I can even see better really close up without glasses. I have my close up prescription set to read the dash on my car more than anything else. But I’m so use to magnification now that trying to look into a cockpit is out of the question. I went a few years without going shooting and last time out I had issues with iron sights. Red dots have made a world of difference. -

I couldn’t build models without my OptiVisor. I sometimes sit down at the bench and forget to put it on and start to wonder why I’m so blind. -
The mains are G-Factor. (I’m sure you knew this because it was your kit at one time 🤣) Front is resin and I’m assuming Paul made it with an internal wire like he did on the Cougars gear.

You left out “curse”. Multiple times. Over and over. I whine a lot, but I’m still having fun. I did forget how time consuming these resin projects can be. Off to the next rudder now and then I might start adding some legs to it.
-
BaaHumbug! Cut your rudders out if you want to get all fancy! He does mention drooping the wing control surfaces a little and having the air brakes slightly cracked open though. epoxied in place. Needs a little edging with some files and sand paper still then priming.
-
For the life of me, I cannot figure out why Paul didn’t design these vertical stabs with the rudders cast into place as one piece. Gaps too big, angles different, rudder too wide at the base. Looks like I’ll have a couple to three hours in each rudder making them look right.

I remember reading a tip Paul Fisher had put in his instructions for one of his kits I built some time back. Use white glue to fill minor wing gaps. But my gaps were so small the curved tip hobby syringes I had were just too big. So I just tried a medical syringe with an 18 gauge needle and it worked like a charm! Angles cut squirted glue right into the gap. Cleaned up using a cotton swab and spit.

If they were selling navel lint brushes, I might have done a group purchase for all of us.
