  1. Nice job Pete! I’m trying to rush a couple to add them to this years total. Just sprayed the blue on the phantom and realized it could be better. So I’m going to slow it down a bit and call it 8 for me this year.
  2. I have a 1990 F-250 with only 58,000 miles on it. Majority of my repairs have been due to time and age more than wear and tear. But yea, Ford did a good job of hiding that tilt system. Almost feels like you’re about to rip the turn signal lever off in your hand before it moves.
  3. Rob, I bought a Lie Nielsen small brass block plane when I got into woodworking. It’s amazing how nice it is to work with quality tools vs. bargain stuff.
  4. Awesome good time! Thanks again Ernie for your organizational skills.
  5. Yea but with grands you just have to send them home with mom and dad. 😁 They can ask them, I’ve done my household fleet repair and astronomical insurance bills with 4 young drivers.
  6. Yea, this little monkey is only 2 1/2 but acts like he’s 4 or 5 and is into EVERYTHING!
  7. Ernie, I have one of those. They are a blast! oops, forgot to mention my wife got me a small handgun safe for the bedroom since the grands are getting older.
  8. Sweet! Someone posted a 1/32 guppy conversion for the Avenger and I had to have it. Your build is great!
  9. Interesting. Spare tire was not an option with the PP in case someone had a rear flat and used it. The Torsen diff doesn’t play well with two different size tire diameters. And LOL if you think Ford is there to satisfy a customer. It’s all about the share holders.
  10. I keep mulling the same thing over and over. I’ve already built 9 F-16’s and still have 6 or 7 kits. Building my 4th J phantom right now, still have two in the stash. I also have 2 Tamiya E’s, a mix of about 6 or 7 Revell Phantoms as well. I keep telling myself to quit buying duplicates and the last two kits I’ve bought have been Spitfires. 🤦
  11. The actual reason for no spare is weight reduction numbers and trying to squeeze every oz. of gas to increase MPG. When I ordered my ‘15 I opted out on Performance Pack and went with an 18” wheel so I could order the spare tire option.
  12. I don’t have the book of faces as well. But I do have an iPhone and an iPad. 😁
  13. Screenshot from pulling up your info and clicking on the envelope.
  14. Just like you would in a regular post. Bottom left. Click on it and add pic from your phone/ipad/PC’s library of pics or click on “Take photo or video”. Bottom right if you host pics here or somewhere like ImageShack.
  15. Oh look! White stuff on my ground too. But it’s from my soap bucket after washing my car. 🤣 And the boat ride. Feels a LOT cooler than 64 across that water.
  16. I’m liking this! I’ve got the 1/32 kit to build my uncles ride during WWII.
  17. Thinner without retarder… yea, I missed that. Reducers are used in enamels and 2k paints. Thinners in lacquers. Retarders for all to slow the drying time for deeper gloss and blending and less over spray. That’s from my old bodyshop days. FYI, Don’t be shy to mix regular Mr. Color thinner with Leveling thinner if you don’t need the full strength leveling abilities. I sometimes mix for priming unless it’s an all over prime job. edit: Back in the day we bought hot, medium and cool thinners and reducers depending on the weather. Funny story. 9 years ago when I was buying supplies to paint my ‘66 GT Fastback I was planning on painting in the summer. I bought all products for hot weather. Things dragged out and being South Carolina it was still hot the week before Labor Day. Painting took me 5 days because of the custom finish I did. Last day of spraying was after laying on three coats of clear then spraying on three more. After that last three coats on day 5 a front came through and after clear was shot, temps dropped 30 degrees. I dreamed all night I was going to wake up the next morning to a car covered with runs everywhere with puddles of paint on the floor.
  18. A little cheaper here. I’ve never used them though. Google is your friends! https://mpmhobbies.com/products/t104-mr-color-thinner-400ml?variant=46275483664615&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_campaign=gs-2022-07-30&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9fWVsbOhgwMVi6JaBR0brgz8EAQYCyABEgLI0fD_BwE
  19. I order from these guys sometimes when they have paint in stock others don’t. They seem to have stock, but they can be a bit slower than Sprue to ship. https://gundamplacestore.com/products/mr-leveling-thinner-400ml?variant=40285767696520&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9fWVsbOhgwMVi6JaBR0brgz8EAQYASABEgJgUfD_BwE
  20. I’ve done the foam trick before, but the phantom has a white edge that has to be taped off and the wheel well just isn’t deep enough to hold the foam. Nose gear hole could have. I should have at least done that one.
  21. Yea, this is F-4J #4 I’m building. I’ve got two more J kits left. One is going to be the VX-4 Bicentennial bird, the other is the Marine kit. I’ll probably build it with kit decals.
  22. Ugh…. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate taping up wheel wells??
  23. Might be a NY regulation on the disposable plastics allowed?
  24. 😱 I’ve been mixing lacquers in mine since I jumped ship from acrylics with no problems. I’ll even leave my clean up thinner in the cup overnight to evaporate with no plastic melting.
