  1. Yea, I thought about the underwater resin tank thing. Problem is, I don’t own a forklift to move it. just going to build up an ocean floor scene with some rocks scattered about and I’m using air dry clay to form the shape.
  2. Thanks guys. Now the “fun” begins. I’ve never done a diorama before. I’ve watched a few YouTube videos on how to do the techniques, but I’ve got a lot more research to do though.
  3. Few shots with the tape pulled off.
  4. My son would steal it!
  5. Great minds think alike! it’s on a furniture dolly!
  6. We’re gonna need a bigger booth…..
  7. I should have advised y’all to buy stock in Tamiya tape.
  8. Yea, a real prop. Not a model prop. Check out this guys ceiling fan he made from one. I want! Propeller ceiling fan
  9. Yea, kind of missing all those panel lines and rivets that would otherwise distract from imperfections.
  10. Congrats on stepping outside the box! Patience is going to be your friend on this one. I’m kind of like you with getting the instant gratification with faster building kits. But over the years I’ve bought a few kits that I look back on now and say, “Scott, WTH were you thinking?” I’m afraid they might have their own SOD still in the box if I don’t sell them off. Ex: 1/200 Arizona from Trumpeter.
  11. Box ‘O paint! My USA Gundam order from last weeks 25% off sale
  12. Probably a semi or flat. That pic a page back was soaking wet paint I had just applied. It’s dulled out pretty nice.
  13. Off roading was a big part of my oldest sons early years. Many times I got the call to come help him get the Samurai out of the mud and stump pit. It was almost like he wanted to get stuck. I hated to sell that Samurai, but I got tired of the 11 pm calls (yea, no idea why a teenager has to do this stuff that late at night) and being his pit crew to rebuild after a weekend of stupidity. I enjoyed going on established backroads in the woods, but nothing like my boy did.
  14. Well, just when you think you’re ready to paint, you feel this and sand on it. so you add more putty. Gotta let it dry now.
  15. WooHoo! First one across the finish line! Looks great Peter! At my stage in the game I’m hoping to make it to the finish line! I’ve had to assemble a rolling work stand to move the thing around.
  16. Just got finished bending itty-bitty tiny cleats. yea, that’s a single edge razor blade.
  17. Man, that sounds great. But one day those guys will regret being that close without wearing ear pro. I say that as I sit here listening to the never ending reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee in my ears right now.
  18. I think someone is about to steal home plate.
  19. Wow Peter! That is gorgeous! Looks like you might be the first post under completed wet builds. Speaking of oral surgery, mine called the other day about my follow up after a molar extraction and bone graft for an implant. Told me they needed to reschedule. LOL! I didn’t even know I had the appointment. Told them no problem, as I wasn’t going for the implant anyway. Back molar, not visible so not spending $5k on it. Feels a little funny chewing, but I’ll learn to embrace it.
  20. Welcome Luke! But what’s an LAE?
  21. And now we finally have some paint!! Almost an entire bottle of Mr. Color FS36622 on just the bottom. Found a spot or two I might go back and fix. But going to wait for it to dry first. Looked bad under wet paint. Let’s wait for it to flatten out.
