  1. Great article and thanks for sharing Jeff. Carl
  2. Hi Gus, Thanks! Sue wants to go back at some point. She has family in Scotland still. We did indeed have a dinner there. It was great fish & chips. Didn't try the deep fried Mars bar though. Carl
  3. Got back to working on the Stratos. The front suspension and bulkheads are quite the jigsaw puzzle. Dry fit on the chassis. I've decided to start with the side panels as they seem to have the most positive fit to the chassis and go from there.
  4. Fantastic looking boat. Wish I knew that when we stayed in Anstruther a couple years ago when we visited Scotland.
  5. Ok, I'm pulling up a seat for this. My favourite WWI plane. Carl
  6. Jeff, my boys have been recipients of your giving so for me personally I'd say you've done your part. The same goes for Harv, Ernie and others here. Carl
  7. I think Santa would need an Antonov for Ernie's stash.
  8. Thankfully there were no significant injuries. They've shut their webstore down so no orders are going thru. Makes sense until they know what they have to sell. Carl
  9. Really impressive looking build. What are the straps hanging down from below the cockpit? Carl
  10. I haven't forgotten it. Just still trying to figure out the base display. I think for my sanity I'm going to dial it back a bit.
  11. Rob, if it does work out, please let the rest of know the diameter of the tubing you used so we can try the same.
  12. That Matilda is a nice kit. I built it when I first came out. Of course I used the wrong colours for the camo... Carl
  13. I've been working on getting the M60 lower hull painted. With that done, the road wheels are on.
  14. Nice! The 90hp bump is 30 more than my engine makes stock. Guess I won't be winning any drag races against you. Lol. Carl
  15. Well, it finally arrived. The shop I ordered it from is about 40 (60ish km) minutes from my place but I took advantage of their free shipping. It got to the post office fine and then went to Halifax, which is about 1,800 km away before they sent it back to the local post office and finally to my house in Toronto. But it's here and in time for Christmas.
  16. I've got the same kit. It's my favourite WWI plane. I can't recall who but someone makes a template jig for getting the angles on the struts correctly. I think I have it. I can take a look if you want. Carl
  17. Phil, it's mostly from other folks answering the same questions I've asked in the past. I sometimes forget all the answers but no reason I shouldn't pass on what I do remember.
  18. That's the plan Phil. I'm trying to get at least a couple of these finished. Won't happen before the new year though.
  19. Too many? On the bench, there's the He219, the Stratos which is my main focus, the M60, Scammell and Grant. Under the bench is my KH Kingfisher and a Subaru WRX rally car. Behind the bench is a F-104J and a CF-104D and the Hawker Hart. At least I finished my Super Star Destroyer. A minute ago anyways.
  20. Another started kit from out of the woodwork. AFV club's M60A2.
  21. I think the Revell ones might be an AIM-120 rather than an AIM-7. Which would explain the different length and fin shape.
  22. I've heard it a couple times but can't recall where from. It is very appropriate though.
