  1. Phil, I'm just taking out random kits in the stash and working on them. Whatever strikes my fancy at the moment. I am leaning towards trying to finish at least a couple of the started kits that have been lingering around. If you're going to do just one Spitfire in 1/32, my vote is for any of the Tamiya ones. I've built 9 or 10 so far and they have great to put together. There are a couple small niggles- the wing leading edge inserts and the cowl panels can be fiddly. They're my stress relief builds when I need one. Carl
  2. I fixed the tail wheel on the Spitfire. I cut the opening a bit bigger. Then I grafted in a resin bit from an Alleycat PRXI conversion set I have. It's meant for the Tamiya Spitfire kits but the fit was close enough to make it work. After some filling and sanding.
  3. Gorgeous Cayman there Hubert. At least the engine is in the right spot. Carl
  4. One time the back door didn't close fully and by morning the water in the dog's bowl was frozen solid. Our kitchen was like a walk in freezer.
  5. Stay warm Peter. We're still digging out from the 34cm of snow from the beginning of last week. At least the mayor didn't call in the army like the mayor back in '97 did. The rest of the country hasn't let us live that down. It's been -15°C here at night, cold enough the cold water supply in our kitchen froze. It thawed out after a couple of days of having a space heater pointed at them. Carl
  6. According to Hobbyeasy, Beemax is coming out with one of the iconic F1 cars of the mid '80s- the Lotus 99T. The 1.5 litre Honda V-6 in this car made almost 1000 HP when it raced. https://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/mh0sxkkxcjhkupef1am6.html Hopefully they'll have the correct Camel markings for it. Carl
  7. Nice! Are you to get the new one from Takom? Or is it Meng? Carl
  8. FedEx left a big box on our steps this morning. My oldest son's birthday gift was in it. Here be dragons... Since there was room in the box for other stuff without increasing the shipping, I added a couple items. Carl
  9. Thanks guys! One option in the kit is the way they display the engine. The entire nose is a separate section and you can swap between the closed up nose or the exposed engine on the airframe. The engine can be displayed separately on a stand too.
  10. Waiting for me when I got home from work today was my first Great Wall Hobby kit. I took a quick peek in the box. The detail is very nicely done. You can't complain about the decal placement sheet being too small. The kit also has a nice patch included in it. It looks very nice overall. Just need to finish some other stuff first. Carl
  11. Nice progress there Gary. I picked up that book on a sale recently. It really does give you all the detailed information you could want. If you need a couple extra track links, let me know. I have a bag of them kicking around from a binned kit. Should be easy enough to drop them in the mail for you. Carl
  12. Found another started Brit fighter in the stash. The plan was to do it as a PRXIX. Found one issue I'll need to sort out. The tail wheel bay is missing.
  13. Welcome to Chinese New Year. They say it's the world's largest human migration every year. The country basically shuts down for two weeks and a couple hundred million folks go home. Carl
  14. That Type VII looks interesting. For a moment I thought it was the full hull which would be huge. Having built the Bronco Type XXIII in 1/35, this could be a nice compliment to that kit. Carl
  15. I think Jimmy saw this post. I just caught him chewing on my Blundstones. Thankfully, he'd just gotten them so no damage here.
  16. Your Hurricane looks great there Martin.
  17. Yeah, a 1/32 canopy might look a bit small on your kit. Hope you find a replacement.
  18. If you need another canopy, I just checked and have a spare. Let me know. Carl
  19. Martin, I think Hurricane kits are cursed. I knocked over my big bottle of Mr Color Tool Cleaner all over the bench the other night working on the Hurricane. At least I grabbed the plane in time before it got a chance to turn into plastic goo.
  20. Rad's on. A couple small gaps to fill around it. Slightly bigger gaps around the rear burner can though.
  21. Looks like a country lane in France. Really awesome. Carl
  22. A bit more work done on the Hurricane. The leading edge lights are in and the covers are sanded to fit. Now to polish them and I can maybe start on the paint. Carl
  23. Your diorama is looking more impressive every time. Can't wait to see how the gate turns out. Carl
  24. Nicely done there Harald. Great job on getting that window blister on cleanly. It would be nice to see more of these nose kit sections come out. A B-17 one would be pretty cool with all the nose art they had. Carl
