  1. Looks great Tony. Carl
  2. Glad to see you're back Peter. Not so glad to hear about the injuries but at least you're getting them looked after and be on the mend. I saw some of the pics you took in Maine on the other thread and they make it easy to understand why you go. Carl
  3. Thanks Peter and Jeff. This is probably my favourite photo from the trip. It has my wife, our oldest son ( 3 1/2 at the time)and her dad walking along the tracks at the base of the canyon. That's the train we rode in on in the background. Carl
  4. Great pictures everyone. Here's a couple from Northern Ontario from a family trip a couple years ago. These are from Agawa Canyon near the Sault. Carl
  5. It looks very nice with the decals on. Into the home stretch. Carl
  6. Glad to see it's finally getting returned to a proper condition. I recently went through a ridiculous insurance claim at the beginning the summer so I feel your pain. Is that a spoiler as well that you have? Carl
  7. I agree with Jeff. We were just over in Scotland this past August. My boys had a blast playing on the many beaches we visited including St Andrews. Carl
  8. For me,.my Birdcage Corsair is probably my best. It was the first time I really tried to weather a model as I usually do very little weathering on my builds. Trying to get the right worn paint look took a couple of tries before I was happy with it. My first try was too stark and I had to strip and repaint the wings. Carl
  9. Just reading this thread for the first time. Your figures are exquisitely finished. Can't wait to see your progress on the Belle herself. Carl
  10. Thanks! The tracks definitely add some weight to the model. Carl
  11. Ok, got some more done. The tools are painted and installed. For the turret decals , I used ones made by Echelon. So a quick clear coat and some weathering and she'll be finished. Carl
  12. How about this guy? He snuck into our car hoping for a lift somewhere.
  13. Completely agree with you there. Classic rear wheel drive cars need a long hood and short deck to look right. I just realized that my convertible could probably fit in the trunk of yours.
  14. Certainly nicer than Ford's last try at a T-bird.
  15. Or a couple WNW Lancasters...
  16. Cool, so much information and details I'm learning about these cars. Carl
  17. Nice! So that's the Thelma and Louise T-bird? Carl
  18. That'll rub out. Any other pics to satisfy my curiosity? Carl
  19. I can completely agree with you there. My Tamiya Mossie stalled after I made a mess of the belts. I ended up ripping them out and putting new ones in. It was only then that I felt up to finishing it. You're doing a great job and I'm looking forward to seeing paint on her. Carl
  20. Just got a newsletter from WNW that there will be test shots of the Lancaster at Telford. They also say they're hoping that price wise it cones in slightly higher than the Felixstowe/Brandenburg Duellist kit so $400 ish? Which means I might be able to pull off getting one of these to go with the HK one. Carl
  21. With our Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday I had time today to get some work done on the Tiger. It was mostly getting small bits on. I started with the spare tracks and the various cables. The ones for the turret were particularly fiddly as they didn't have any specific location points provided. All that's left now are the OVM tools and the turret markings. Carl
  22. Great review James and thanks from me as well for doing it. Carl
  23. Very clean and sharp. I use masks all the time for markings but haven't tried them for camo yet. Carl
  24. Great photos Jeff! I've only been to Vancouver so haven't seen anything really of BC. Still trying to make my way through Ontario where I live. Martin, I hear there's more fluffy white stuff headed your way. I think you need one of those Russian tanks with the jet engines mounted on them for snow removal. Then you get to combine all your hobbies in one shot Carl
  25. That's what happened to me. I started wearing glasses when I was 3 1/2. I was fine at the work bench and for reading but then had my eye surgery and suddenly needed reading glasses. The rest of the time I've got 20/20 vision so it's a fair tradeoff in my eyes. The good thing is so far both my boys have great vision (thanks to the wife's genes) so hopefully they'll be able to keep it for a while. Carl
