I'm hoping to finish the Vosper this coming year as well.

Peter, the challenge for me is to just keep going through a build. It's too easy for me to just switch subjects, often for no rhyme or reason.
-
I didn't think I had too many completed builds this year but it looks like I was wrong. In no particular order, here they are Bandai SD-MG Freedom Gundam Tamiya 1/32 F-14A The Final Countdown Bandai 1/1000 UNCF Andromeda with Dreadnought class booster ships. Special Hobby 1/32 CT-133 Mako One Hasegawa 1/72 Regult standard type I started a lot more than these kits so I'll have some projects ready to hit the ground running in the new year.

The second leg is glued on now. The sanding sticks help to keep the clamps from slipping off since the T-Rex isn't exactly smooth. -

Peter, this is going to be an interesting painting exercise that's for sure. -

Paul, definitely don't use enamels or lacquers on vinyl models as the paint won't dry which you found out. I generally use Tamiya acrylics and haven't had any issues. For filler, I'm using Vallejo putty as it's acrylic. Deluxe Perfect Plastic Putty works too. Hope that helps. -

Starting over on an old build. Pegasus Models made some excellent dinosaur models out of solid vinyl that I picked up. Unfortunately they needed some fettling with regards to the fit and I botched the first time. I managed to get the legs off and after some time tweaking the joint, I got a much better fit. So first leg is on. -

What did you find under the Christmas tree?

I hear you Rob. Turbos almost seem like a bit of a cheat. Plus aurally, they don't have the scream that a NA engine can have. That's being said, I've always had an addiction for the MP4/4 due to its season record of 15 wins in 16 races which is I guess now overshadowed by this year's Red Bull car with 22 out of 23 wins. As for the Lancia, I agree the white one is a nicer scheme but it was $50 more. As the kit decals have some errors, I figured I would put the difference towards replacement decals. -

Veritas are very nice hand tools. I have a couple of their block planes as well. I'm on the fence about the Lotus myself. I'd like to get it but NuNu/Beemax have announce an MP4/4 now so I may get that instead. -

...and across the finish line! I might give it a wash to bring out some of the details but paint and assembly are all done. Hopefully Hasegawa decide to do a Gluag command pod in the future. -
Nice selection of kits you completed there Peter. Great job on all of them too.

Thanks for organizing this!

I'm so glad ours are past that age. That being said, they're getting close to the one where they'll be asking for the car keys. -

Cool! I don't know if those are even allowed in Canada. -

Merry Christmas everyone! Here's what I got. I'll be off to the LHS with the cash portion of my gifts tomorrow. -

The reason folks buy the Detolf is for the glass and door hardware. They were originally around $50-60 for one so super cheap. Meantime, work on the Regult has progressed nicely. Cockpit pod: Legs are coming together. Now they look like the birds that Sunny occasionally leaves for us at the back door. Or at least parts of the birds... -
The last bit is the one that so many folks forget. Of course there's always this classic from Road & Track: The caption read: "Good tires," Bob mused, casually lighting a cigarette, "but certainly not great tires."

This reminds of the first gen Audi TT. The car came with a donut spare that the spare tire well was sized to fit. A full size didn't fit. So if you got a flat, you had to put the wheel with the flat on the passenger seat. They included a bag to put it in so the seat wouldn't get dirty. No mention on what your passenger was supposed to do though.

Will do. My first try was taking two Ikea Detolf display cases and joining them together to make one bigger cabinet plus adding 4 extra shelves. The new one will be similar in width but double the depth. Unfortunately Ikea seems to have recently discontinued the Detolf case but I have two already. -

Thanks guys! I try to find space where I can for the finished builds. I'm planning to build a new display case in the new year that should hold some of them. But it's definitely getting to be a bit of a challenge. -

Thanks Chris! The Tomcat intakes are on. It took a bit of clamping. While that was drying, I started hopefully a quick build. Indeed, it's been holding up to that end. The legs are almost done already. -
Phew, I thought it was that stuff that came in a can and you could spray it on stuff. Do they still make that or is it gone because highly flammable?
