Getting her colours

Bring on the dark green

Started with the upper surfaces with a bit darkened Ocean grey.

Underside ready. Time for some camo. The grey will be Ocean grey with a little bit black mixed in.

Fresh of the printer! 5mm acrylic with print. I will screw this on top of the base.

Realized i have 3 brands of medium sea gray in my supply. Went for the mr hobby colour since it never lets me down. I might use some variations here and there.

Another long session of airbrushing. Almost done with the marbling.

Bit by bit

The first paint is on. This took me the better part of an hour. This is because i dilute the paint very much and need many passes for good coverage.

New slats primed and polished. Final check and prep before paint!

Reprinted the slats in different resin. This one gives more detail and is slightly more flexible. Painting stage is not far off.

Trying to keep this build up to speed. finally happy with the Norton. So prepping those for paint, but i need to check it thoroughly for parts of printing supports. Then: reprinted the slats and radiator slats since the new printer prints them smoother. Also 3d drew and printed the radio access hatch. This 3d printing makes it all a breeze! And it feels like cheating.

Printed even more Nortons after a lot of adjustments. The whirlwind is almost ready for paint!

Really sad news. Harv was the kindest of guys you could encounter in our hobby. i wish all the best to all of his loved ones with this big loss. Jeroen

Fresh from the printer! Altered some parts and flipped the model back.

Made the aileron trim tabs. Engraved the ailerons. Ready for installation.

Sooo, painting a few gun camera’s. Once two of them Re done, i’ll pick the best one and use that. Also printed a few new access hatches that are amazingly thin and nicer than the first.
