HI everyone...

I'm close!  So close.  So close that I won't post any aircraft pics and spoil...   the ummm...   surprise.   But I am done with pilot and ground crew guy.   Here they are...

My figures still suck...  I painted all of the uniform details by hand, using my reading glasses combined with my visor to eneable me to paint the tiniest of marks.  You might be able to see that my pilot Feldwebel has three sets of wings on his yellow collar patches.

And the canvas of the parachute.  I hate painting canvas.  It always looks different than the way I want.  Either too yellow, too brown, or too white.  PITA.

Anyway.    Happy modelling!

You are your worst critique, Gary. I like the figures and I envy your skills, but have to say, they are well earned, the way you train and progress with nearly every build, adding figures. I think they came out beautiful to the non macroed natural eye.

Cheers Rob

I'm with Rob and Peter - Your figures are TERRIFIC.  If yours 'suck', then mine are pondscum.  Hang the cost of post, I have some figures I need painted so they are heading to AUS as we speak so you can work your magic!  :unworthy:  Damn, is there anything you don't do really well??!!!  :respect:

I'm right with Rob. if I could paint figures a tenth as good as yours, I would be doing cartwheels - OK at my age, smiling from ear to ear is closer to it. I did look closely at the painted details and they do look mighty good.

Thank you, Peter.   I appreciate it.  I'm curious...   did you ever make a serious go at them.  Because your detail painting is terrific.  I can;t imagine you not being able.

Thank you Chris.  Very kind of you to say.  I just see so many better figures on facebook than mine...   that I feel I can't measure up.  BTW...  I don't do dieting very well.

Hi Gaz

In my model railroading days, I worked in both HO and O scale, I tried doing figures and the results were terrible. I bit the bullet and continued to populate my pikes with pre-painted and costly figures. Every time your builds reach the point of painting figures for the dioramas, the erg to try again starts up.  I might just give them a try as part of my GB build. See how it goes.
