sharkcoach Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Just finished the first two steps in the Kotare Spitfire. 16
BlrwestSiR Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Nice work. How are you liking the build so far? 3
sharkcoach Posted April 21, 2023 Author Posted April 21, 2023 The kit is beautiful lots of things to paint but goes together very easily. The molded seatbelts are a bit soft on detail and the instructions can be a little confusing so you need to pay attention but I love this kit 5
KevinM Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Really looking good there this kit seems to fall together....Nice! 3
Peterpools Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Nice progress on the Spit. Kit looks fantastic and absolutely is living up to all that has been said about it. 2
Peterpools Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Nice work on the cammo - looking mighty good 2
sharkcoach Posted April 30, 2023 Author Posted April 30, 2023 Thanks, Need to make custom masks for National Markings 3
Peterpools Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Any reason why you decided not to use the kit deals - they look terrific? 1
sharkcoach Posted May 1, 2023 Author Posted May 1, 2023 Yep I'm doing one of the 3 Mk 1as that were used by Turkey. Also I hate decals whenever possible I paint the markings rather than using decals 3
Spitfire Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Looking good, the kit looks fantastic, wish they would do a Mk. XII. Cheers Dennis 2
sharkcoach Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 Finished I may go back and do some more weathering. 6
sharkcoach Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 Anyone know if any Mk IIs served in colors other than Commonwealth? 2
GazzaS Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Wow! Turkey. I never would have expected it. Very nice! 2
Spitfire Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Certainly an eye catching and different look for a Spitfire. Cheers Dennis 2
Spitfire Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 8 hours ago, sharkcoach said: Anyone know if any Mk IIs served in colors other than Commonwealth? I'm pretty sure that the Mk.II served with the RAF exclusively, with other nationalities making up squadrons within the RAF, the Mk.V was the one that served with other air arms in any numbers as far as I know. Cheers Dennis 1
Bomber_County Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 This looks amazing, first time I’ve seen Turkish markings on a Spit, congrats………. 2
sharkcoach Posted May 12, 2023 Author Posted May 12, 2023 Thanks it was a lot of fun and doing the custom masks was awesome 2
Martinnfb Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 I completely missed out on this build, looking fantastic.
