Thanks for sharing Maru.

The Lysander is a different looking plane. Definitely function over form.

A 1/32 scale modern tool Lysander would certainly get me to spend some money.

Cheers

Thanks for posting, Maru.  Maybe see you there next year.  Coming over for Nats anytime soon?

You're welcome.

Inshallah! See you next year.

Where are the NATS .... I was thinking to return to India for a break next year and see what remains of extended family. Just THINKING about it nothing solid planned yet.

Even better, in-between 1/48 and 1/24 … what scale could that be ?

I know, but Airfix says they’ll never do 1/32 as the market is loaded with kitmakers in that scale.
They pretty much have 1/24 to themselves these days

Agreed. Love that plane, for the oddness. But it was also superbly functional.

So how new is that Airfix tooling? I'm not very optimistic about a 32 scale one coming along any time soon.

I was talking to William the other day about, how true "commando" in its nature is this airplane. In and out from behind the enemy lines. Unannounced, unnoticed and quietly deadly.

Careful, guys. Someone is going to say it was military « Army » in nature, the true predecessor to the helo,  and we (well, not me 🫣) will see it released in 1/35 scale 😱

Shhhh, Border might be listening.   Every time they bring something I love out in 1970s drunk Tamiya designer scale, I want to stick my head in a blender.

I love my drunk designed Kate. I should have bought the deck/Island for it as well. Then maybe hide a Tamiya  tank on the other side...

I am genuinely happy for you if you are satisfied with your Kate.

I attach a pic of a basic comparison design of an aircraft shape I have drawn. Left is "1/35" and right is "1/32". All dimensions are strictly proportional.

For me, that is not really "close enough". But to each his own.

I am happy with it. I was a professional model builder for over 25 years. I get the scale difference. I even did the math on the Kate, just for fun. I don't see it as an issue worth bothering with. I wanted a Kate, now I have one, without waiting for an Infinity kit  "In the right scale" that's never going to see the light of day. Or, worse IMO, a resin kit.

Most civilians, lets say,  who see my models never will never know the diff either, to be honest.

I'm planning on buying Borders Zero when it comes out.

I see no problem with Border making aircraft kits in 1/35... I build

mostly 1/35, so these kits would fit my collection. Perhaps Border's

Intention is to fill a niche for builders of this scale. It's like producing

armor in 1/48 when the standard for armor is 1/35. Think of the

Tamiya aircraft/vehicle combo kits in 1/48.  Anyway, the border kits.

do look nice.   Build in the scale you want.... By the way, a Lysander in

1/24 would be spectacular!
