BlrwestSiR Posted March 23 Posted March 23 I just got back from our trip to Heritagecon. It's a great show with the goal of supporting the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Plus you have the awesome environment of being surrounded by various planes, many in flaying condition. Onto to the models on display starting with aircraft. This diorama was entered in the Junior category: 5 1
BlrwestSiR Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 ...more aircraft: Scratch built floats for the C-47. 1/32 planes were well represented. The Border Lanc kit done to represent the wartime VR-A. Bombs away: 6
BlrwestSiR Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 Helos: There were a couple of the ICM CH-54 kits built up. Here's the first one with just about every bit of AM from Reskit and Screaming Toad thrown at it. The second one was in a civilian scheme. 5 1
BlrwestSiR Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 Autos: Then there was this 1940 Maserati: Size reference, that our son's friend checking it out. 5 1
BlrwestSiR Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 Ships: A lovely looking Enterprise: . A piece of Canadian folklore, the Edmund Fitzgerald: I must have missed a table as there were more ships but I don't seem to have pics of the rest. 7 1
GusMac Posted March 23 Posted March 23 That Maserati looks amazing, not surprised it took 20 years to do! The RNLI lifeboat also looks cool. Think it's an Aran class but not sure. 2
BlrwestSiR Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 Sci-fi: A number of MaK kits. The variety in paint schemes was great to see. SBY kits. Star Wars: What if they had Reno air racing. Gundam. 5 1

BlrwestSiR Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 Finally, some of the armour on display. 1/6 scale I think. A masking nightmare: The Andy's 1/16 Tiger 1: 1/72!! 3 1
BlrwestSiR Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 Bonus entry, it seems they had VR-A taken apart more than I've seen previously for maintenance. The entire horizontal and vertical tailplanes were off. 5 1

HubertB Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Now, who is going to model the Border 1/32 Lancaster with engine visible and the flowery apron to cover it ? Hubert 2 4

DocRob Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Thank you for taking us with you, Carl. It seemed to have been a great show. I especially like the relatively great amount of off the trotten path kits shown. Cheers Rob 4
Winnie Posted Wednesday at 08:10 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:10 PM The thing I miss the most about no longer living in the SW Ontario, is missing this and the London shows... Still a member of IPMS London, but tough to miss out! Another great show, and I recognize the models of a couple of the London guys! 3
