Thnx guys,

Yup, I'm kicking it and finally kinda enjoying myself with it too.

Fuel filler necks installed:

Forward windows were closed (panels) on my version:

And made some headway with the power eggs:

They'll need polishing and riveting now.

Those exhausts look far better than the kit parts.

I can't believe you are using the wings.

OK. As described my many, the fitting of the engines to the wings is awkward to say the least.

Lots of patience and dry fitting is needed to get a perfect fit.

Almost there. Then some small filling, sanding, describing and then..... riveting!

If it's any consolation, the real Heinkel also had huge gaps between cowling panels.

But you seem to have conquered the beast.

Hi Jeroen , glad you got your CMK wheel bay to fit, looks like the struggle was worth it. I bet you're looking forward to painting, i wish you all the best for the rest of the build,

Cheers,

Pete.

Slowly but surely things are taking shapes.

Made some plastic card shims to close some minor gaps on the rear cowling parts.

The oil coolers are on. Don't try to blend them in, since a small step is supposed to be there.

I expected the cowlings to give me a bigger fight.

Also putting together the bomb racks. No Eduard here, since I'm keeping the windows in this section closed.

And then i discovered that i had detailed Kagero drawings showing rivet locations!

Scale 48 but detailed enough for 32nd scale.

And the wings are on!

I want to wait with riveting until I have gotten rid of all the seams and smoothened the fucker out.

I learned this from my Ju88 build....

Looks almost the same in size as the Mancunian.

Swift progress indeed. Good to see you have cut away the flaps to prevent those acres of wings to

look like football pitches.

Nice work big J;- I saw one of these completed at our New Zealand Nationals recently and they do look great when finished. Good luck!

Cheers guys!

Here's the only real fix that needs to be performed on this kit.

The area behind the gondola. It's rounded, but should be flattened and merge with the flat window behind the gondola.

Member Florin pointed me to a good tip on this fix: add some plastic card to the inside of the fuselage where you will do your sanding, since you WILL go through otherwise.

I'm not sure what it is but this model is addictive and yet bad for progress. Quite slow building. Researching. Mediocre fit.

The Eduard masks are incomplete. Luckily i also have the monte window masks. I prefer the Eduard Kabuki, but am settling in some places for the montex masks, since they include the inside window masks, Especially inside the glass nose dome masking inside is a must.
