Grunhertz Posted August 11, 2018 Author Posted August 11, 2018 Sure here you go http://www.radubstore.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=77_110
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted August 11, 2018 Administrators Posted August 11, 2018 Radu’s magic rivet tool is the tool version of Mr. Leveling Thinner. One of those rare products that improves your game 100 fold. Also, look at his scribers. Pure bliss on a handle. These things just work, and work well. No muss, no fuss. 1
Peterpools Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Need to check both out. I keep buying scribing tools and I’m still searching for the one that works well in my hand. Peter 1

Bomber_County Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 I have a set of dental instruments of had for years............ 4
Grunhertz Posted August 18, 2018 Author Posted August 18, 2018 More progress. I've had warnings about the fit of the wings to fuselage and the wheel bay, including a copy of SAM I picked up and put down in Tescos today. It seems that the bottom of the cockpit and the wheel bay clash. So with this in mind I decided to go very slowly, and carefully dry fitting as I went and; this is the result, no chopping or thinning needed so much so that this is the best wing to fuselage joint I've had on a SH kit ever. Now bear in mind nothing is glued yet, but I think I have found the solution. the inboard section of yhe wheel bays sits inside yhe hole in the lower wing, not on top of, if you do that it's tight but it fits. This is what I like about these kits they are a challenge and not for the faint hearted. But they are also buildable. Till next time 5
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted August 18, 2018 Administrators Posted August 18, 2018 Looking amazing! Me, I’d have pulled out the sander and Dremel. You figured it out though! awesome!!! 2
DocRob Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Way to do it, that is the right spirit . Cheers Rob 3
Bomber_County Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Looking really good, glad the wing fitment wasn’t to much of a PITA. Earnie, yes I did breakout the Dremel on mine........ Phil. 3
SaG Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Nice work Grunhertz. I got my kit yesterday. It is a huge kit with nice details. Now I need to decide when to start building it. cheers, Bennet 2
Bomber_County Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 SaG, welcome aboard. Looking forward to your build. Phil. 1
harv Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 I picked one up at the Nats in Phoenix. Don't know when I'll get to it. It is a great kit......Harv
Grunhertz Posted August 24, 2018 Author Posted August 24, 2018 It's a really great kit! But treat it as it is; something between limited run and mass produced and you won't go wrong. It isn't shake and bake, but someone with a couple of kits under their belt shouldn't worry too much. My next step will be the leading edge panels that are plain but moulded thd wag hhey ate to allow for tooling a mk 2 and 6 with the rads in the wings. I get the feeling some dry fitting may be needed here as well 2
SaG Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 I really like the Mk.II for it's exotic paint schemes (RAF Silver, Pakistan AF Deert camo and Indian Silver) https://sprueandglue.com/1-32-special-hobby-hawker-tempest-mk-ii-hi-tech 1

But I'm going for a camo'd one Anyway she's nearly ready for paint 4
Bomber_County Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 Looking good, I’m at exactly the same point. Always get nervous at the next stage, not sure why. Probably it’s because I’m a builder not a painter.....watching intently.. 2

He has the masks done but not ready to release yet so I'm her to g a prototype set. I've used his masks on loads of builds, including HKM'S Mosquito 2
Peterpools Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Super work on the fit and she looks great. Looking forward to the air brush work. Keep 'em comin Peter 1
