I am considering doing a FAA Corsair at some point but I have one question: Has anyone provided the clipped wingtips necessary for a FAA bird? Thanks in advance. :)

He did a outstanding job. As I'm lazy I'd prefer to have some ready-made tips and not have to do all the cutting, etc. However, if push comes to shove I guess I'd have to if I want a FAA a/c. :)

IIRC the Revell had both wing tips. But I could be wrong. ....harv

Revell did not have both, Harv. What they DID do was a separate boxing of the Royal Navy Corsair. That boxing had wings that were clipped.

John, I seem to remember one of the decal sets out there has instructions on clipping the tips. For the life of me, I can’t remember which one.

Thanks for that! Should be very useful when the time comes. :)

PS: As sometimes happens I have that book and just didn't realize that diagram was in it. DUH!!!

Gotta love the FAA Corsair. They were flying them off carriers years before we figured it out. When there’s a will, there’s a way....

Those clipped wings sure didn’t hurt performance at all...

John, It's no big deal to saw off the tips and clean them up. Matter of minutes. Try it, you will surprise yourself.:)
