Peterpools Posted December 21, 2023 Share Posted December 21, 2023 I use all three methods of masking off wheel wells: tape, foam and wet paper; towel and toilet paper. I use which ever seems to work the best and sometimes, none do and then it's a tough act to find a solution. Here........ back when Ardnt Fischer parked his Panther outside in an unscheduled "bazooka inspired" stop . Yep , BotB obsessed man gets to spend 4 wintery days in the Ardennes ....again . This years focus is the Loshiem gap , & we're staying at St Vith . This trip I'm planning on seeing where Lyle Bouck held up a whole division for a day with 18 men, link ,where the poor 106th Inf Div came to grief in the Schnee Eifel link , and where the early battles in and around the small villages really messed up 5th PanzerArmee timings. Just an update, Mossie , I’ve posted that in the WIP. As for other stuff happening, with the Mossie in the spray shop I snuck in this. Spitfire Posted December 22, 2023 Share Posted December 22, 2023 The Re2005 has been getting some more attention, I don't like using decals so paint masks are the order of the day, there are no masks available for the Re2005 so I used some Montex masks for the C202, they are roughly the same size. And they came out great. All ready for the off. And the finished article. Some minor damage to the wing paint but has now been repaired and on to the undercarriage assembly. Now if I do multiple builds at the same time I try and do different aircraft, or at least different scales. My other stumbling block when working on more then one kit, is actually remembering where I am with each kit and for me, that means going back, reading the last few build updates and any notes I may have made in the instructions. I guess what I do is really not working on more then one kit simultaneously, as I'll work on just one for a good chunk of time, then go back to the other; I guess it's more like alternating kits and bench time. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If I hit a bit of a hurdle in one kit, I can pause on it and work on something else while I figure out possible solutions rather than just barging forward. On the Sea Fury for example, when I ran into the cowl issue, my first thought was just leave it and continue on. Three Tamiya (VII, VIII and a IX) and the old Revell/Matchbox 24. The wing went together all wonky, partly due to cutting it up for a Seafire 47 conversion. I'm going to salvage it and finish it one day.
