I don't think so, to me it looks right. Without the wash, the camo might be appearing too harsh compared with real Leo pics. The wash distracts a little from the hard edge, like in real life.

This is where I'm aiming:

Then came a spattering with filters, then sprayed filters:

Tracks, wheels, and other fun to follow...  as well as streaking...

Wow Gaz, your Leo is looking perfect in the sunlight. Remembers me of holidays in western Germany, when I was young. There were Leo 1's by the time, but with that type of camo. When there was a maneuver by the Bundeswehr, the Leo's where on every road and we feared them overtaking our car without changing the lane ;).
We had no Bundeswehr in West Berlin by that time, because of the status of Berlin and the four allies parting Berlin into sectors.

Cheers Rob

Thank you, Rob!

I certainly would be worried to share the road with fast tanks, too.

While I'm waiting for the He219's wing spar to dry, I got back to the Honda City and stated on a VW Bus.

Got to find my Lexan paints for the Bus first though.

Is something compressing your pics horizontally? That bus seems a bit short compared to its width. And are the circles on the driver's door and just in front of the cooling vents the knock-out pin marks from the mold, or an actual surface detail? They should not be there.

They're the mounting holes to install the body onto the chassis. The body may be shorter than its supposed to be but I  guess that's in context once on the chassis.

RC is where Tamiya really makes their money.

Ah, okay then.

But I have to say as a vintage VW lover who prefers bone stock vehicles, the idea of the bus on that chassis is melting my brain.

LoL. I used to have a McLaren F1 body on an monster truck chassis but sold it.

Don't worry, Tamiya make some stock looking VWs as well. Their Karman Ghia is really nicely done.

I think the Ghia is a bit pricey, though. And they don't make any Type 2's which are my favorite VWs. I have to go to Hasegawa for those. Wish they made a double cab, though.

This was the first car IRL I ever attempted to buy.  I loved it's classic shape.  Unfortunately when I sat in it, my chin was on my chest.  I was shattered.  Maybe one day I'll build this one.  I wonder if anyone makes moon hubcaps for it.  Sometimes height isn't an advantage.

Are you familiar with this Ghia?

This is the Type 34, which was primarily sold in Europe. A few made it to the U.S. and I have seen a couple when I used to participate in VW shows with my bus.

Nossir...  can't say I have.  TBH, my favorite Ghia's have the chopped top, California style.   Not that I could drive them anyway.  I had a friend with an 80' Corvette with Targa tops.  For me to ride, the Targa tops had to be off.  VW's are great cars.

I suspect if you ever got in my '91 Beat, you'd be looking over the windshield.:D

My aunt back in Berlin used to have one of these. It had a black body and white top and was always in perfect original condition. She sold the car some years ago, when she was to old driving it. The Karman Ghia fitted her perfectly, because she had always the appearance of a 60's movie actor, even in her older ages.
Sometimes we drove down the Havelchaussee, a beautiful Berlin road on the Lakeside in the middle of the forest, just to enter the western city center a quarter of an hour later.

Cheers Rob

Something I can sink my teeth into hopefully:

IMG_20200620_110715.thumb.jpg.27305368b72f60ba2723bc1570018380.jpg

9lb brisket and a 10lb pork shoulder.

We're "hosting" a socially distanced laneway get together with our neighbours. Everyone brings their own plates and cutlery and sits/stands in the lane behind our homes.
