It's gotten very smooth.   I wants to slide off the jig.

I have to grip either main wings or fuselage very firmly.

Hi again, Everybody...  and those of you who exist on an ethereal plane....

Spent a lot of time yesterday working on the landing gear.  After the first drying period, I discovered that the starboard wingtip sat 15mm higher than the port.  After some wrestling and some knife work, I can report that both wingtip lights sit 57mm over the deck.

IN addition to that I added the pilots step and landing gear covers.  I don't know if all of the angles are correct...  I was happy to get the wingtips level.

From 80 gauge copper wire I made the landing gear indicators and I used .7mm brass tube and .5mm brass rod to fashion the pitot tube.

My effort for this afternoon was limited to masking the exhaust stubs and spraying them with Alclad polished aluminum.

I hope I can do a nice orange-to-blue burnt metal look to the stubs....  we'll see how it goes...

Thanks for looking!

That bird is looking speed, like it a lot, but with correcting the wingtip you made a mistake. The difference is purposed, because it turns easier that way, in fact it's a tuning step :D.

Hello Friends!

Finally can call this done.  Here are some tidbits before I link it to the completed LSM forum.

Love the PE radiator and oil cooler!

PE belts.  I found canopy glue real useful with these!

And finally the business end of it.

Gazz, that, sir, is darn near flawless in execution. Gorgeous, gorgeous build!

It must, of course, be placed on the FB page.

Yes, it inspires. I’m looking sideways at an HPH P-63 right now....

Now, Herr Gazz, go grab one of those one or two dozen Hasegawa 109F’s I know you gotta have, and start filling holes.  :)

Come to think of it, a smoothed out, faired in, slightly clipped wing, 88G with a couple of 2800’s swapped in would be one heckuva decent long distance racer.

Thank you, Ernie!  Actually,...  I have been tinkering with the idea of a racing 109K.  The main maneuver problem with the 109 was that the controls became so heavy at speed, that it couldn't turn because the pilot didn't have enough strength to fight the airflow over the control surfaces.

But, when the USAAF came out with the Sabrejet, they solved the problem by making all of the controls hydraulically assisted.  I wonder how many 109 and P-38 pilots might have survived  if they only had hydraulically assisted elevators?

A P-63 would looks snazzy as a race plane...  In polished NMF or a daring color.    A Ju-88 would be way too big for my space... even with big PW engines.

I only have one Hasegawa F in my stash right now...  I only have about 40 kits in my stash at any given time...  I try to complete one every 4-6 weeks...

Short attention span, you see!
