Mirror Models 1/35 Diamond T 969A Wrecker
One-Oh-Four replied to NigelR32's topic in Armour/AFV Reviews
Thanks, Nige! -
I had that idea too, some times. But then I came across heavy details or rather bare cockpits and all the good intentions were chucked away! Even if I know that a finely painted and lifelike weathered model draws more looks than a superbly detailed model of which the paintwork is just up to par...

Mirror Models 1/35 Diamond T 969A Wrecker
One-Oh-Four replied to NigelR32's topic in Armour/AFV Reviews
Very nice review, Nige! At the Flanders' Modelling Festival in Antwerp last March someone who was building the model mentioned that normal polystyrene glues didn't work on the plastic of his kit. Strange story, could you please glue some ports to see if there is truth in that statement? I can't really imagine it, but you never know... -
How many Eindeckers will be ready by the deadline? Or are there some people who could do with -let's say- a month extension of this GB?

That's a good agreement! I'm sure it'll be difficult to change back to the culture of us brusque and thick gaijin but you don't have to start all over... -

Don't forget that a friend of yours is kit-sitting 1 or 2 kits for you at home... Show that pic again, Paulster? -
Another method is the Flory weathering wash: http://www.florymodels.co.uk/weathering-wash/

Does remind me of the Hasegawa catalogues of the early nineties where every model had it's panellines accentuated with black ink... I usually use a dark brownish or greyish wash of oil colour over the acrylic paintwork. But that naturally only works with recessed panellines. In any case, beware of too much contrast in your panellines, that makes the model look toy-like.

Oh? I just thought you have HUGE hands...
