  1. I DO hope you're building it into another B-17F than Memphis Belle.... That one's sooooo overexposed.... No idea if there are markings for sale out there, but how about the 303rd BG? http://www.303rdbg.com/index.html Or 8-Ball: http://www.markstyling.com/303rd_b17s1.htm Have fun with the project!!! Cheers, Erik.
  2. Nice goings, Gus! Carry on!!
  3. PMC (Plastic Modelling Club) Leipzig VdPM - Verein der Plastik Modellbauer Hannover e.V. (Club of Plastic Modellers, Hannover and vicinity) Sorry Cees, its 1/72..... Plastik Modellbauclub Bodensee e.V. (Plastic Modelling Club Bodensee and vicinity) KMK - Kempense Modelbouw Klub (Kempense Modelling Club) Belgium Modelbouwclub Willebroek (Modelling Club Willebroek) Belgium 1:700! Okay, my friends, that's it! I hope you enjoyed the photos I took of the show. In any case, it's evident that it was a very nice weekend at a location where modelers and clubs from the length and width of germany and some surrounding countries found each other! Cheers! Erik.
  4. TWENOT - Dutch Armour Association (Stof je model af voordat je het neerzet!!!) IPMS Mid-Sussex (United Kingdom) Scale Friends / Kids Corner (German Club) ModellbauGilde.de (Modelling Guild) Sweet little "15": 10 years later, married with 5 children.....: Egg-Type 10 JGSDF MBT...: Modellbaufreunde Siegen (Modelling friends from Siegen) The old, old, old Revell 1/32 Phantom built straight from the box, warts and all! Nice ride down memory lane! This model has docked at Euro Scale Modelling (IPMS NL Nationals) in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands too, as the orange pennon proves. It even won a Silver medal there! *Snigger!* As you can see, there were quite a number of Japanese subjects on show. That was because the theme of the weekend was "Japan". To be continued.
  5. The Clubstands AGMF DMMB - Der Militärmodellbauer I don't remember what club this was..... Plastik Modellbauclub Saar Hamburger Modellbau Team Modellschmiede Hämelerwald 1:144!!! Modellbaufreunde Löhne / Westfalen Bremer Modellbau Club
  6. On with the Competition! It seems I won the electronic war with the iMac/iPhone/PhotoBucket..... But I feel 20 years older now...! I'm sorry for the quality of the competition photos till this one. This table just had bad lighting for photographing models, resulting in ugly shadows and bad flare. Although I'm in the possession of some pretty good Nikon gear I find that snap-shooting models on shows is generally easiest with my iPhone 6 Plus. Because of the small sensor and the vibration reduction the pics are generally sharp with enough depth of field. The drawback is of course less dynamic range, so if the circumstances deal you with lighting that is less than ideal you pay the price.... But hey! at least I don't have to lug several pounds of camera, lens(es), flash and tripod around! So, these were the models in competition that i took photographs of. Now on to the clubstands! Cheers, Erik.
  7. When I've imposed my will on my iMac, my iPhone, Photos in combination with Photobucket there will be some more Soviet / Russian jets.... No, as usual, nothing finished..... You know where my house lives.... It was the 1/72nd Revell/Matchbox kit, built by Henk de Jong. Looked nice, as did the PBY-5. In fact I liked that one even more!
  8. Euro Model Expo 2016, Heiden, Germany. On April 2nd and 3rd, the annual modeling show in the small town of Heiden, Germany was organized again. As usual, it was a very nice, laid back show with lots of German, Belgian and Dutch modeling clubs presenting themselves. Of course, there also was a competition and lots and lots of traders! IPMS the Netherlands had a stand: Some pictures from the competition: The rest will hopefully follow tomorrow as I experience some difficulty in the communicating skills of my iMac and iPhone with Photobucket!!
  9. Hi David, welcome! Very nice Corsair! Was the gradual shift from white to sea blue your intention? I know that there were aircraft who indeed flew with this very soft graduation! Cheers, Erik.
  10. The members are doing what we Admins should do more: building models and posting about them! Ooops.....
  11. Didn't notice earlier, Jimmy "Superglue" Hatch! Have a nice day!!!! Cheers, the Teddy Boy from Holland!
  12. I hope you'll be better soon! Take care, hope to see you pick up the Stryker again! Cheers, Erik.
  13. I second that. I personally use a stiff pig's hair brush (a little better density of the hairs) but the rest is basically as Jim describes it.
  14. Glad you all like it! There was indeed very, very good work on display. Today the last installment; the large scale aircraft I photographed on the competition tables. Enjoy and happy holidays!
  15. And the large scale aircraft in competition are still to come!
  16. Yeah, sure looking good!
  17. Time for the LSM aircraft on show and the military vehicles in competition: Some aircraft by André Kliebisch: Currently he is working on Revell's Fw 190A: The Ans Modelisme-club had some interesting models and WIP-conversions and scratch built projects in 1/32to show:
  18. Okay, let's wheel some figures (busts) in, now nobody's looking.....
  19. BSMC Convention 2015 Last Sunday a couple of friends and I went from the Dutch native heartland to Flanders, the town of Putte, where the Belgian Scale Modelers' Club organized their yearly Convention. I'd like to give you all some insight in the Large Scale Models that took my fancy. Let's start with the military vehicles on show at the different modeling club stands: This is the first part. In the next parts we'll look at the large military vehicles in competition, the LSM aircraft on show and those in competition. Stay tuned!
  20. Would resin P&W F-100 F-16 nozzles work? The part in front of the turkey feathers not, obviously, but the aft part might work?
  21. Interesting subject! looks like the bastard son of a Dauntless and an Avenger... I'm interested to see how this project will turn out!
