  1. Hi guys, thanks for the support. I'm aware of the canopy controversion, but the last news on that is that John from AIMS is going to provide a better version to everyone who bought the kit, so I think we will be good. Although I really liked the idea of a HPH made canopy... It's going to be a pretty big kit with a winspan of around 70 cm! I'll keep you guys updated!
  2. Hi everyone, This one will fit in just right for this group build, AIMS Ju388 L1 conversion set for the Revell Ju88. Surely I will finish my Me410 first as I've said many times before. It's just that I'm rebuilding my man-cave at the moment and can't build models in the mean time. Anyway, the finish line is in sight on that project, so I hope the be modelling again soon. I will make a post in the general forums on the new man-cave in the 'show us your workbench' sub-forum. Seeing that I still have a year from now on, I'm confident that I will be able to pull of this conversion in time for this GB. This will be the starting point . Cheers, Wouter
  3. I hope they do make one in 1/32, but please wait till I've finished my HPH build
  4. Hi guys, just to let you know I'm still working on this beauty, but due to rebuilding my man cave, progress is slow. No pictures therefore, but I've constructed one of the radiator flap's , so one wing is now essentially complete. The radiator actuators are a pain in the ars to build. I ended up gluing them instead of trying to make the hinges working. I'm sure it can be done, but after many fruitless efforts I gave up. I've also decided to close up the gun compartment. I made some progress on the gun rack, but I didn't like to break up the lines of the aircraft, so in the end it's going to be closed. It has also something to do with the fact that I want the model completed for the ESM meeting at the end of october. Fingers crossed! Cheers!
  5. Looks fantastic Jeroen. Finally a very nice kit from the little Dutch Hawker Hurricane in our preferred scale! Besides Telfort, do you bring it with you to EuroScaleModelling in oktober? I would love to see it in real life.
  6. Looking mighty fine so far Jeroen, can't wait to put mine together seeing this. But I'm in the middle of rebuilding my man cave. I'll get a new dormer (dakkapel in Dutch) this wednesday and after it has been placed I'll need some time to rebuild the room. Moddeling progress is thus on a alltime low again.
  7. Great review! Indeed every kit from HpH looks like a winner to me. To bad I can't buy them all... Oh, about those brass tubes: the ones with a bigger diameter need to be inserted into the engine nacelle. The smaller ones go into the propeller spinner. That way you can insert the completed props without the need to glue them. Very handy if you need to transport your model to a show or meeting.
  8. Wow! Looks stunning even from pictures. I can clearly see that HpH made some improvements over their earlier releases like the me410 I'm building. Especially the manual looks better. The price is a bit higher then I expected, but to me it looks like it's still worth every penny and I'll surely get one myself. @ Cees: Last year I asked HpH if they could make a master for the Fokker G1. The reply is: they can, but you have to donate about 2000 euro and if you take of 100 examples the price point per kit would be around 150 euro. So if we can rally enough interest and some initial funding it might be an option.
  9. Can't wait to see how you will tackle this build James. I haven't bought the Fw189 yet, but I will. I'll get it at the Dutch IPMS nationals this autumn, it'll save me a significant amount of shipping costs.
  10. Hi guys, small update, made some progress on the Mk103 gunpack. Since there are no drawings available (to my knowledge) I have to scratchbuild from the pictures in the Me410 manual. So lot's of trial and error. But it's going in the right direction nonetheless. And it still does fit into the bomb bay, but it's a very very tight fit. No more updates for the next two weeks, as I will be on vacation . Cheers, Wouter
  11. I noticed that too Jeroen. Good to see you've found the solution.
  12. Looks great Jeroen. Now I have an example to follow. I started building the engine for this kit today. It's pretty straight forward and I thought it provided a Nic starting point.
  13. thanks guys! @ Jeroen, fit is good for a resin kit, but still lot's of sanding, scraping en test fitting. Especially the cockpit needs some serious trimming to make it fit. You can't take shortcut's on this build and really have to think 10, well mayby 15 steps ahead. On the other hand, I think that's true for most resin builds I guess :-)
  14. Hi all, I think most of you have seen this wip already on LSP but I decided to post it here too. Well, only the pictures of finished parts that is. I'll keep the LSP wip as my main thread with explainations of what I have done so far. Here's a link: http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=53305 And here is a recap from the painted parts of the build so far: And one last picture of how it's going to look Enjoy! Cheers, Wouter
  15. Fantastic review Jeroen! I got my example last week and can't wait to start building it. It looks like it's going to be a really nice build.
  16. Love your paintwork Jeroen. I think I should try your approach in painting the sub assemblies/parts first instead of gluing everything together and paint afterwards.
  17. It's such a ungainly looking plane, but a very nice job on your build. The camouflage looks top-notch!
