  1. This happened a few years back, not far from my home. Nobody badly hurt thank God, but two trashed vehicles after she blows past the STOP line. There’s one born every minute
  2. Gonna do so. I’ve talked to Nige a bit, and he’s definitely good people.
  3. Smitty bought me a dozen bottles of MRP as a hint to finish something, and try it out. I still haven’t done either. I’m just stuck on Gunze.
  4. Stunning result, Jeroen. Awesome tribute to the crew as well. I’m just in awe.
  5. I thought I’d start this up here where we can all discuss a model I have serious interest in, the HB B-24. I was looking at Iain’s possible fix over on the other site, and it looks seriously promising as a fix for the wing. Nigel and a couple others have been contributing there as well, and Im certainly feeling better about a fix for the wing. This is definitely a kit I’ll be building, so I’m following these discussions with intense interest.
  6. You know what I’m thinking? I think we’re blowing up a good man’s build thread with tweak talk. We should maybe start a thread for that up in LSM discussion..... Edit: started one up top in modeling discussion
  7. Gaz, is that 48 scale? Never miond painting it, I probably couldn't even SEE it.
  8. You're a braver man than I am. Looks good, though
  9. This is good. Gunze Mr. Color has been my go to choice. Mr. Paint, (MRP) is nice, but tough to get. With ModelMaster winding down, it's going to be nice to have choices if Gunze suddenly becomes unavailable. I'm just not really a fan of the Tamiya formulation they sell us in this Country. It seems different than Europe's Tamiya. I don't remember German Tamiya being as cantankerous...
  10. Good to see you again Mark. I hope life's treating you well. Ernie
  11. Gotta love the FAA Corsair. They were flying them off carriers years before we figured it out. When there’s a will, there’s a way.... Those clipped wings sure didn’t hurt performance at all...
  12. Yup, me too. Hannants, Poland, Czech, Ukraine, and Russia.
  13. Boy, talk about war weary. That old girl's been rode hard and put away wet. Cool pic...
  14. I just loved these things. They sparked a serious passion in me that still glows. There's so much untapped power in that engine that it just blows the mind. The Wankel, to me, on paper, is the perfect engine, at least for smaller applications. Done right, electric smooth power.
  15. Jeff, you DO know the difference between a Corvette and a porcupine, right?
  16. I'm thinking of an appropriate response over and above the obvious kudos for an awesome job sniffing out that super smoking hot deal! Remember those gag Hitler memes where he's told that "INSERT PUNCHLINE HERE" just happened, and he has the slow boil eruption? I just wish, just once, I could film myself doing that as a gag of that Hitler gag....
  17. Heck, Age don’t get better, you just figure out there isn’t enough time in the day to count that high. Happy Birthday!
  18. Was a very, very good time last night. A bunch of friends showed up with guitars and a mandolin, and had me blow the dust off mine... and off we went. Time flies when you’re having fun. yeah it’s a bad pic, but Joy was videoing the whole thing. Just pulled a screenshot off her video. Some was actually put a nickel in the case! Putz!
  19. Danny, I’d do a happy dance around my dining room table. Naked. On stilts. Picking my banjo. With the blinds closed though. Why we have no decent modern L-39 family in IM is way, way beyond my pay grade. It’s a small jet, used in every corner of the world, and is gorgeous no matter what angle you view it from
  20. Wow, am I glad 2018 is in the rear view mirror! Here’s to hoping for a much better 2019, y’all! Happy New Year!
  21. They most definitely are, my friend, but I’ve always had visions of them sitting chained down on the deck of the Magnificent, engines idling, wings folded up like rheumatic turkeys, waiting for their moment to launch. I doubt even bent brass PE wing hinges would be strong enough to hold the wings fast for long periods of handling, you’d need bronze extrusions like G-Factor makes. No matter, this is one beautiful model of one of the most beautiful piston engine fighters ever to fly.
  22. Rich, that Fury is stunning. I have one in a semi stalled state with the same issue as yours: what to do with strengthening the wing fold. Do you have any reference materiel on the wing locks? I thought there was also a removable locking bar from the wing to the fuselage?
  23. My wife would think that would be about right because all us guys think and act with our other heads anyway.... I’m loving this story, will follow along
  24. I think you’ll really need to hammer down on the HK plastic. I tried it on my PBJ today and that plastic’s like my ex wife’s T-Bone steaks.
